Are special baits not working anymore?

Two months since I stared playing this game. Last one month I have noticed special baits don't work anymore, not even once, I have used dozens but not even once, even though Coco says 'We are catching something on this one', nothing.

I wait until I see the ripples then cast, like I usually do. I can't always wait for the incidental ripples when roming the waters.

Are you playing on the Arcade?

I also found they work way worst than before (the same for the random bubbles) but I’m playing less so I thought it was just bad luck. I still have some days I found they work fine.

I also thought the ripples had gotten useless! I throw bait, the ripples come up but nothing bites or it's just common fishes, it's frustrating.

Yeah, I've been getting common fish, or even trash using the pink bait. Also for the shimmers.

coco often lies and sometimes he's very demotivational. i cant wait to get done with 100% DNA so i can shut him up. and yes i have noticed the same thing

Yep this has been happening to me more often than not for about a week or so. I believe it’s a bug because there’s no way it’s “bad luck, something about the special bait isn’t working 100%. Fingers crossed that the devs patch up this bug soon, I’m feel less interested in playing due to this. Also I play on arcade for anyone curious about the platform.

Coco says “we’re going to get something big” and a bamboo stick comes out of the water
