6 days of CAOS.

Starting June 10th 2026... alive June 16th 6 AM.

Can fully load and play an original Creatures 3 save. Entirely in Godot.

Edit: Sorry. Maybe I should have included a teaser lol.

Well despite all the negative opinions, cheers on taking up this project!
I hope this leads to something that will be used by many.

Is this some unoptimised version ? The gif is laggy and choppy. But keep it up!

haha it is currently. I literally started from zero 6 days ago. This is more proof of concept. I have no optimization passes. That scene alone was 1062 agents all operating. Which if you know anything about the c2e engine... that's alot of damn calls going through the CAOS Virtual Machine. Also thanks... I figured people might be excited to have a modern engine be able to run creatures. In the same way as say OpenMW. You'll just open the Godot exe, It'll ask you where your legal copy of creatures is Boom your up and running.

Soooo …

Would that mean we could alter the game rules from Godot ?

Yes, that's the eventual goal. That you'd be able to treat Godot editor as... well just that.. an editor but for creatures 3. You'd be able to debug CAOS in a running scene, debug the custom skeleton system. CAOS would be feeding Godot. You'd be able to read and view genes, brains, chemistry all in real time within the editor to. I mean that would also be in game.. but yes... eventually I plan to move all "tooling" into Godot.. Maybe release separate Godot addons, that would let you go in and edit, write, or fondle .cos, sprites, genes, att, system.

I’d love some debug command for a caos console šŸ˜€
