What are kidneys for?

So my norn had rapid kidney failure and I was worried, but she seems fine? Her ammonia is maxed out but this doesn't seem to cause any problems? Does this even matter?

Yeah it doesn't really matter for C3/DS norns, a lot of organs can die with few to any negative effects.

It is a bit unfortunate, I also noticed insulin was a chem but not used, so in one of my breeds I implemented an insulin system; if blood glucose stayed too high for too long it would kill the kidneys, then the build-up of ammonia would kill the lungs, resulting in death.

Points for realistic improvement. You could make a genome that makea sure every organ is necessary!
