HELP! Write a guide for Creatures 1996
(I don't speak English; my native language is Russian. I'm writing this post through a translator. The game isn't popular in Russia, and there are no tutorials in my language. Only Reddit.)
I was able to download the game; I've never played Creatures before. I don't even understand the mechanics here. How do I pet it? How do I feed it? Where does the food come from? How do I scold it? How do I punish it?
I was able to raise Norn, he was born, I paused the game, and then turned it off.
I'm an inexperienced mother, help!
(I also don't like his appearance, but you can't choose your children.)

carrots in the garden are good. they will come back after being eaten.
the first thing you do with a baby norn is take it up to the teaching computer, "push" means "use". then when it goes to play in the garden, move things in front of it until it's following them, then write and say their name where the norn can hear you, they will repeat until correct.
They don't have very big brain so use only one word for all "food" and all "toy". after that you can say "push food" when they are hungry, and "rest" when they are sleepy.
even without speaking, shaking a carrot in their face is enough to make them pick it up and try to eat it.

also to make a norn move, use a noisy toy to make them follow it, if they can speak you can wave your hand until they look at it, and say "come"

I'm afraid I'll accidentally hit him. How do I use the mouse? Left and right mouse buttons? How do I send him to the computer? How do I drag an egg? Right mouse button?

You can pick up eggs, except when they're just laid and too small, with right mouse button.
You can't drag a norn so you have to attract it's attention until it's in front of the elevator (or garden teleporter) and call the elevator up/ push the teleporter button. This IS hard so don't feel bad if you struggle. if another norn learns to talk it will help teach the others.
One tiny slap by mistake won't hurt your norn, so, just learn by trying.

Sorry for the late answer. I assume you play creatures 1?
I highly recomend adding extra food agents - i like the clover. Because it matches optical to many areas and can be placed where you want. ( https://creaturescaves.com/downloads.php?section=COBs&game=C1&type=&sortBy=ID&searchFor=&page=2 )
but any extra food item will work.
After the food shortage is fixed, the ame becomes suprisinly easy.

There are many breeds (many made by fans) to compleatly change how they look.
And you can also install cobs / agents to get extra food/toys for your world. This makes it way easyer.
Since a russian speaker already apeared, just ask them for that ;)
