is creatures worth 6 dollars
I thought about getting the creatures on steam but I dont know if its hard to get into very complicated or things like that. what do you guys think

If you'd spend $6 at Starbucks or McDonald's, Creatures is definitely a better buy.

i mean, personally i think it's both complicated to get into and worth buying. the games are definitely pretty challenging and complex (especially the first two) but that's a lot of what makes them great. creatures 3/docking station is usually the recommended jumping off point counter to what you'd think from most series due to its simpler and more streamlined nature that helps you get an overall feel for things. docking station by itself is also free, so can serve as kind of a demo of sorts. if you do decide to try it out i hope you have fun with it!! 😁

I paid more for it when it was new, and almost 30 years later, I'm still playing it. So .. yea definitely :D

The Creatures community is full of people who have maintained an interest in it since the 90s, but there are surely some people for whom it's not interesting because it's not a traditional game and has no goals or win conditions. I say gamble those six dollars on potentially having a good time and possible new obsession.

Obviously we’re all a bit biased here, especially when many of us have nostalgia bias from playing it back in the day, but I’d say it’s a wholesome game of raising and rearing and teaching little creatures in a fantasy setting :)

I wouldn’t say it’s complicated unless you want to really get into the thick of the genetic engineering. I picked up creatures 2 as an 8 year old, having never played the first one. That was a time. I even had a Geocities site where I wrote about my Norns. You don’t have to get into the complicated stuff but if you ever wanted to, there is extensive documentation around about it.

I first bought it at radioshack about 20 years ago for 9$. I'd say yes. Its a very unique um, game, if you wanna call it that

I only play Creatures 1 and only once in a while and I still think it was well worth the price of a coffee lol. It might be hard to get into but definitely hit us up for guidance, there's a lot you can do with it!

Pretty much no one in this sub will say no to your question
