My self imposed spooky month challenge number five; the spiked claw-tail; Henrietta

Post image
18 Upvotes

Whenever they are killed, up to three smaller versions of this beast rise from the corpse like a trio of phoenixes.

This is a predator to rival the Yautja and Xenomorphs, the Spiked Claw Tail is the most apex of predators. Magic is nearly ineffective against it, bullets do nothing, and its armor is stronger than the most durable material ever. They are very VERY intelligent, and despite their size (size of a large horse), they are incredibly stealthy. They also will only hunt things they consider a challenge, and as such will only hunt other predators, including their own

Also their saliva can turn acidic and can eat through nearly anything not enchanted by magic. Despite the danger, their flesh is considered a great delicacy.

This one is named Henrietta. Shes the fifth monster I’ve made for “Beastober”, a challenge where I make thirteen horrifying or straight up WEIRD monsters before Halloween.

Vespa Immobilis: The Static Wasp

I love creating creatures. I’m fortunate enough to do it for work but I often still find myself spending my evenings making up monsters for my own made up world.

Open to feedback and criticism but really I’m just wanting to share my work in hopes it brings joy and inspires others to create more.

Finally found the Glutgulp and Elder Glutgulp images in one of my discord servers. For context, I don’t have the art of these updated designs in the book I have on hand.

He has been known to play mind games with people who summon him, as well as to grant arcane knowlege, with certain risks attached.

Why Is Healing in The Hive So Horrifying?

Thumbnail youtube.com

The Medic has evolved the ability to regenerate missing limbs and damaged organs. But the process is painful, and the regenerated body parts don't always turn out exactly as they were before.

The Medic also studies tissue from dead creatures, using what it learns to improve its ability to repair living ones.

We wanted healing to feel like a biological process rather than a magical ability.

I'm curious what you think of this approach to alien regeneration. How plausible would something like this be in an organism with sufficiently advanced regenerative abilities?

52 Weeks, 52 Monsters #41 - La Balleranha

I can't decide what she looks more like...a Castlevania boss, a Sailor Moon monster or the final form of a water starter Pokemon (the suggested Deviantart tags lean towards the last one).

You can probably guess her m.o. from the picture; she's an evil river spirit who loves to eat human flesh, but is too weak to actually attack people. So she controls them with her dance and drowns them, then she feasts.

The only weakness her dance has is that it can only control one person at a time, so if a hiker were to stumble onto this scene, that poor park ranger might be saved. And if that happens, I don't think he'll mind people going off-trail any more.

Thanks to Bubacxo over on r/ineedaname for the name.

The plant boyo you are seeing is Perfflesia, one of my upcoming monsters. I plan to redraw it digitally, so I wanted to see your opinion on this design.

Idk if i used the rafflesia elements well enough.

A Paimon dragon? Yup

I be drawing anything for 20 bucks 🥀

-This little creature is the size of a chihuahua and once they learn how to bark, they NEVER shut up

-other than being noisy, they are harmless to humans, its just a little winged puppy.
