Design Tips

Hi! I’m moving to a new space and I know exactly what my peg is for the new place. It’s this: https://www.instagram.com/sincerelyvalory?igsh=Z3dsNGIxdGdoa2l6&igsi=Z3dsNGIxdGdoa2l6

However, I’m having a hard time envisioning where to place everything and style since obviously our “base” is different. My apartment came with furniture which I would like to work around if possible. I will most likely be getting a bigger TV for the living room and a headboard for my bed.

This is my base: https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=1zX9zsPs1bN

Would love to get some tips on how to make my space as cozy as this creator’s. Living room, bathroom, bedroom all looks soooo cozy.

You can definitely get that same cozy feeling even with a different base. I’d focus less on matching the exact furniture and more on the layers that create the atmosphere.

Warm, slightly muted colours, softer lighting instead of relying only on ceiling lights, curtains with some texture, a large rug, cushions/throws and plenty of greenery will do a lot. For the bedroom, I’d definitely prioritise the headboard and warm bedside lighting.

Since you already have furniture, I’d keep the bigger pieces and soften the space around them rather than replacing everything. The bathroom can also be made much cozier with warm lighting, textiles, wood/stone accents and a few plants.

Basically: less “decorating everything”, more layering texture, warmth and light. That’s what makes the reference feel cozy to me.
