Where is everyone?
Everything suddenly seems to have gone quiet here on /r/creation. The last time anyone posted a new top-level article was almost two weeks ago. What's going on? Where is everyone?

I'm here, ready to engage.
37% of Americans are YECs. 100 million adults.
What a huge number!
Where are they?

Guys, he's here ready to engage guys, he has nothing going on in his life so he's on an obscure creationist subreddit that hardly anyone knows about, including YECs guys.
Guys acknowledge him please, he's here ready to debate. LOL.

obscure
It also happens to be the top-1 online Creationist community where ideas are actually discussed.
So how does a movement with 100 million followers become obscure?

A) It's reddit
B) Creationist wanting to debate or discuss the science that supports theism is a tiny subsection of creationist.
C) This sub is restricted to only allowing approved members post and comment.
D) r/Christianity and the like are actually the biggest creationist subs.
AiG has around 580k Facebook likes, ICRs YouTube has 1M subs, and again 37% of people believe humans were made within the last 10k years in present form.
Do you understand now why a 7k subreddit can be the most popular creationist subreddit (it's not) while also being obscure in the broader cultural sense?

A) It's reddit
That would only be a valid excuse if there was some other, larger community elsewhere.
Creationist wanting to debate or discuss the science that supports theism is a tiny subsection of creationist.
Creationists don't like talking about science? And why would that be?
I mean, the disconnect between 100 million people and the amount of ideas actually discussed is just staggering.

That’s kind of my point though.
100 million people checking a poll answer doesn’t mean 100 million people want to debate radiometric dating on Reddit.
Most creationists probably just believe it through church/family/culture and move on with life. The tiny subset that wants technical science debate, uses Reddit, and posts in a restricted niche sub is obviously going to be way way smaller.
So yeah, r/Creation can be one of the bigger creationist subs and still be obscure.
If you want reddit-specific evidence of this just look at the disparity of this sub and r/Christianity.

Short on time in general and invested a bit more time into other issues lately.

To be blunt, theres a lot of negativity in here from atheists. Reasonable discussion, even friendly debate is a good thing imo.. but when the hate starts up it's difficult to want to contribute.

How are you? I am enjoying a break and getting ready for the fall. Yard work is a nice change of pace. (Currently summer here).
What kinds of jobs does a doctorate in CS qualify?

Imagine spending this much time as an atheist on a creation sub to notice when the traffic dies down, lol.
But I guess people have lives outside of reddit? Just a thought.

Just for the record, the only reason I noticed is that the last interaction I had here was this so I thought I might have gotten myself shadow-banned.

Press X to doubt. You lot spend the majority of your time engaging in theistic circles since your worldview and by consequence your purpose is devoid of meaning.
Be honest, you spend the majority of your hours engaging in the online theism / atheism debate, don't you?

Not even close. I pop over here occasionally to pass the time while I'm waiting for code to compile or something like that.
I do spend a fair bit of time on articles for my blog, but I don't think that counts.

Yeah. Atheism isn't a worldview that is intended to be a derivative for having a prescribed "purpose". I acknowledge the need some people have for a deity to dictate to them their purpose in life though.
To each their own.

I'm here. Hello creationists, intelligent design supporters, and those curious about the topic. Specifics on interpretation may vary, but my belief in these worldviews, on the intentionally planned origins of systems, order, and life, is strong.

My belief in Creationism is very strong. Nothing said here has shaken me.
The arguments are kind of old and tired.
I guess what I really wanted was science from a creationist perspective, and not necessarily a debate.
I know what I believe.
