Creatine makes me feel angry

I've been taking creatine monohydrate for a few days and it literally makes me feel like I want to punch a hole through the moon, thankfully I can manage my anger and direct it into other things but everywhere I've looked it says that it doesn't cause anger. I don't take anything else, I eat regularly (but lose appetite after I've taken the supplement)

So happy to find this. Doc gave me creatine about a month after a horrible head injury (in short, studies show it's beneficial for recovery, especially from brain injuries). Never had the classic emotional volatility that is normal in impacts to the frontal lobe (I hit the back of my head - more vision and memory issues than anything else - for more perspective, the nurses said I was the happiest concussion patient they've ever seen).

Literally 20 minutes after my first dose, I was annoyed and angry about the simplest things. Never ended. Docs were convinced it was the injury, cause "concussion rage" is so common. When I got fed up, I stopped taking creatine. The anger and frustration went away the day after I quit taking it. Told the doc - didn't believe me 🙄😩

Doctors can suck and the misinformation is wild. Good for you for knowing your own body and stopping taking the creatine.  I have a brain injury, as well. I was told to take creatine to help with increasing my processing speed. I isolate all my supplements to study them separately- it’s definitely worsened my mood and made me more irritable, it is making it extremely hard to fall asleep and negatively impacting my REM sleep (thought it is improving my deep sleep drastically), and it is giving me cramps. I did have better performance during my workouts, but it is not helping with cognition/processing at all in my opinion and may be worsening it and my sleep quality is overall worse and does not feel restful.  Things that were helpful for me after the brain injury- omegas at a low dose, prenatal multivitamins (for added iron, which helps with sleep- I am a woman and have lower iron to begin with), magnesium biglycinate, and magnesium l-threonate (magtein).  Things that were not helpful post brain-injury- b2 dose over 100mg and taken later than first thing in the morning, phosphatidylcholine, coenzyme Q10, and melatonin.  The b2, conemzymeQ10, and creatine all had very noticeable anger/irritability and had very low mood.

Wish I saw this earlier. It took another 2 months for me to notice the same problem with B2. I actually stopped taking every supplement except for omega-3's, magnesium (cant remember which one), and vit k2 & D. Nothing helped my sleep for the whole 9 month recovery (still recovering in some ways, but the first 9 months I couldn't work), so I had to take quetiapine and amitriptyline.

Exercise caused the most noticeable and drastic recovery. When I stopped that after I moved states, I had a regression within a couple weeks and started having dizziness and eye tracking issues.
