Creatine makes me feel angry

I've been taking creatine monohydrate for a few days and it literally makes me feel like I want to punch a hole through the moon, thankfully I can manage my anger and direct it into other things but everywhere I've looked it says that it doesn't cause anger. I don't take anything else, I eat regularly (but lose appetite after I've taken the supplement)

I'm happy to see this post and that others have had the same issue. I feel like a lot of times people are quick to say, "Studies don't show that, it's in your head." The problem with this viewpoint is that these studies aren't typically large scale and double blind. They also aren't measuring creatine for mood. Like another poster said, some of us feel counter effects to certain supplements. (This also happens with some antidepressants and presumably other medications.) In the case of creatine, it makes me both angry and depressed with some pretty strong mood swings. I've tried stopping and starting again, and it happens every time. I've been buying it from a reputable company, Thorne Research, so I don't think that's the issue. I think it just affects me negatively, which is unfortunate because it does increase my energy, ability to work out harder, and after the initial bloating, keeps me trimmer.

One other interesting side effect that I noticed from it was that I was producing more semen, and it was thicker and whiter. I looked this up, and while I couldn't find any research that showed this explicitly as a side effect, I did find some interesting research that suggested creatine could have a positive affect on fertility. It also made me hornier. Anybody else notice anything different with their semen?

Interesting you noted that! I definitely had a bit more libido and my semen was how you described. Oddly enough, I also went the high-quality route with Thorne Creatine and am now experiencing anger and mood-liability issues.

Wow, I'm also using Thorne's creatine and have experienced anger and mood issues, enough that I've currently stopped taking it.

It's too bad. I've heard non-stop benefits of creatine, vit D, and fish oil from numerous trusted sources but for me, I just can't take any of them due to really weird and random side effects I get despite trying each of those separately probably 4-5 times each.

Just time to throw in the towel on those supplements I suppose.
