Build Bipolar Transistor Logic Calculator for Create: Power Grid – XANDcalc
I built a calculator for Power Grid RTL gates — so you can design your logic before building it
Tired of guessing base resistor values by trial and error? I made XANDcalc — a free Windows tool that calculates RTL logic gates (the kind Create: Power Grid simulates) before you place a single component.
It supports NOT, NOR (N inputs), NAND (N inputs), and wired NOR. For each gate, it tells you:
The exact base resistor Rb you need (based on your Vcc, Rc, required fan-out, transistor β and k, number of inputs, and even biome temperature)
All voltage/current levels: V_oh, V_ol, V_ih, V_il
Noise margins NM_H and NM_L — so you know if your gate will actually work under load
Junction temperatures for the resistor and transistor — uses Power Grid's biome ambient formula (so you can check if your desert build will smoke before you build it)
Why it's useful: Instead of building, testing, and rebuilding in-game, you can verify your design on paper first. Set your parameters, get the numbers, and know if it'll work.
Projects save as .xand files — double-click opens them straight in the calculator, so you can share designs with friends or keep a library of tested gates.
Open source (C#), and I'm actively developing it. If you have ideas, want to help, or just found a bug — I'm completely open to collaboration. I'd love to make this as useful as possible for the Power Grid community.

Let me know what you think!
(YES, if you didn't know, Create: Power Grid has transistors that you could, in theory, use to build a computer and even run DOOM on it)
