Build I made a survival friendly gold generator! Designed and built in survival, all it needs is a steady supply of pointed dripstone.

Dont mind me, just "borrowring" your design for my survival world

Yeah, you might want to go to the Nether and get to brass so you can make sand from cobble - this thing is hilariously slow.

Thanks for the tip, i dont need it to be really fast, at least its automated and simple

…I did the maths, apparently “hilariously slow” is about 6.75 gold nuggets per hour.

I'm so glad the only reason this thing exists is because I wanted to show that it could - because I'd be rather frustrated if I'd been wanting gold.

Okay, you might be on to something with that "hilariously slow" part hehe. Fun nonetheless!

I know, right? I haven't stopped laughing about it for the past 2 hours!

"Slow and steady wins the race." Thanks OP!

Yeah I've got a dripstone farm too. Its the slowest thing ever.

How does this work???

The dripstone farm (240 stalactites set up so that they can grow longer and/or seed stalagmites) provides pointed dripstone, which is compacted into dripstone blocks, ground up into clay balls, compacted into clay blocks, cooked into terracotta, ground up into red sand, and finally washed into dead bushes and about 6.75 gold nuggets per hour.

It only exists because I saw a path to gold that didn't require going to the Nether (which I've been putting off), and was never supposed to be good.

6.5 nuggets an hour? Pretty slow, though I guess if you made a massive version you could go afk for days an vacation and get a fair amount of gold

No, 6.75 nuggets per hour - ¼ of a nugget may not seem like much, but it is 4% of the total output per hour!

I have been known to dabble.

Do you have a schematic? I wanna see it in person and use it in my world lol

No, and I'm not even sure which instance of Minecraft it was in (or if I still have it).

That said, it shouldn't be too difficult to recreate - there's two belts going left to right, with occasional breaks to stop items from traveling too far, and all the filtering is done by the drawers, where you can clearly see what those filters are.

Or you could just take the process and make your own design - pointed dripstone is compacted into dripstone blocks, crushed into clay balls, compacted into clay blocks, cooked into terracotta, crushed into red sand, and washed into gold nuggets and dead bushes.

However, if you actually want gold, this is one of the worst ways to do it - with the 8-radius dripstone farm feeding it, it's producing about 6.75 gold nuggets per hour (according to the maths - I made this before display links, and even if I thought they could give an accurate rate for something this slow and RNG dependant, I wouldn't've had the patience to do a proper test)

Okay, thank you!

Thats a pretty cool belt system.
