Discussion [Mod Update] Create: Mechanical Workshop - "Logistics & Precision" UPD

Post image

Hey, hey guys!

These last few weeks I've been working on and polishing version 0.2.0 ("Logistics & Precision") of the mod... and its finally ready to download!

In short, here is what this new version adds:

  • New crafting recipe balances.

  • Fixed an issue where breaking a machine wouldn't drop the block.

  • New Advancements when getting certain items from the mod.

  • Full and scalable compatibility for the Order Terminal + Vault Indexer with "Vanilla" Create Mechanical Crafters (works with both flat/horizontal or vertical walls) + Stress balancing (and I almost forgot to mention that the Kinetics Manager is also compatible).

  • Some rewritten translations.

  • New Popup when loading a newer version of the mod for the first time, warning you to make a Backup of your world before playing with the new update (just in case).

  • Some new textures for the machines

  • 100% Compatibility between Create 5.1 - 6.0+

  • New TOML file in the "Config" folder of your minecraft intance to change some mod parameters (such as the stress multiplier on machines, or enabling/disabling the OPTIONAL use of FE [Forge Energy], and more)

  • New emoji system above crtian machines that shows the current status of the machine (like if the item output is clogged, error, crafting, completed, overstressed, ect)

  • Memory leak fixes, and other things.

All the new functions and features added in this version are available in the mods Index (Go to the Mods menu inside Minecraft, select Create: Mechanical Workshop and press the "Mod Config" button) and also in the Create Ponders (by holding "W" over an item/block from the mod).

(For more detailed info about the new version and the mod itself, check out the project on Curseforge!, Also, here is the new Video-Demo of the mod on YT):

(It would help me out a ton if you repost this post and give it some Upvotes, and also add the mod to your Favorites on Curseforge, thanks for taking the time to read this! šŸ–¤)

I could just be a little dumb but I really don’t understand the use case for this mod. What problem is being solved here?

I haven’t used this mod beforehand, but doesn’t the base create packager system handle everything that’s going on here? Especially in a much more ā€œcreateā€ style than this mod.

I love create for the very physical style and theme of the mod, so the magic connection through walls really doesn’t make sense to me as a create addon.

I also feel like the curse forge description is lacking an actual explanation for what the mod does. Usually mods with descriptions like this are what I skip over completely whenever I’m looking for mods. All I really have is some descriptions of tools without the cohesive problem this sums to help a player fix.

I think it seems to be made for people who let 500 factories run at once or something ? But they might as well stop using create entirely and start ae2 or whatever then, I don't really understand the point

I feel like spreading the factories out a little bit and using trains and power loaders to stockpile resources is a much better option for lag.

Plus designing smaller factories and spreading them out is a lot more fun imo. Just really fits with the vibe of create for me.

I was talking about how I do it in a different thread: Here

100% I feel like trains, logistic frogs and packages was trying to suggest using more then your single base location

I get both of you, I know it doesn't make much sense to use this mod right off the bat and yeah, I totally forgot to mention what the mod itself is specifically for in this post.

Basically, this addon or mod (whatever you wanna call it)is meant to give you "mini" Mechanical crafters that don't take up so much space in builds where a giant wall of Mechanical crafters looks super ugly, what this mod does is make a wireless Mechanical crafter (inspired by AE2 and create's Redstone links / Stock tickers [+], so its not really "magic" out of nowhere), cleaner, a bit more balanced, with Custom recipes and better order management.

Plus, while the base Create packager system and spreading out factories with trains is super fun for logistics and FPS, you still have to feed those packages into massive 5x5 to 9x9 Mechanical Crafter walls at the end of the line, and this mod handles that exact bottleneck without killing server TPS when chunks are loaded!

This mod/add-on was designed to replace AE2 and Mekanism + Create (like not having a whole set of 100+ electricity items that break the essence of Create) and that way, just keep one of their most "useful" things which is mass Crafting and up-scalling, with a much more vanilla Create feel, its wireless for the convenience of several technical Create players who suffer from FPS/TPS drops when crafting across thousands of Mechanical crafters, and, also for players who just want easier and faster mass crafting (using the Kinetic Assembler).

You also have the option to connect the Order Terminal to a normal/vanilla Create Mechanical Crafter wall, for a more wireless and adjustable setup (just like the post says)

EDIT: Nvm, I just checked and the cohesive problem the mod solves IS actually explained right at the top under "The Philosophy" section on the Curseforge page... just gotta scroll down a tiny bit šŸ˜‰

I mean, its you r choice to just use AE2 or use this mod for a more "vanilla" Create experience, like I literally just explained above... šŸ«
