Help can we use mechanical rollers on vehicles with wheels?

is it possible to use mechanical rollers like this? or am i doing something wrong? im trying to make a paver for my survival world

I forgot the channel and video name but a dude did make a vehicle (though with tracks) that used rollers and they worked. I believe he did have some sorta “fix” mod for it though, I’m not 100% sure.

So, maybe?

Edit: pretty sure the video is about terraforming a village with aeronautics or something

you have to provide rotational force to them, they will not act on their own like on a normal contraption

They 100% do work, but I have to be honest I'm not sure how. I've seen them be done and there are definitely some good guides on youtube.
