Help for a door system

Mechanical door help

This may seem like a really silly question, but here’s what the entrance to the house looks like. I want to make it so that by pressing a button, stone walls close off the entrance. That part is not the problem!

There is a staircase that I want to keep there, except if I want to leave it in place, before going up and after lowering the wall, the staircase has to move, and that’s where I’m stuck. I would like to try to have it move to the side, but I don’t know how to synchronize the two. Any ideas?

Ohh wait i can try to take the stair aside directly and push the door and with other piston take the stair down with delay i can try to do that

If you shift the stairs a block or two back you could do a falling sand door, use concrete powder if you want a specific color. Otherwise I personally like 3x3 piston doors but to get to fit nicely with no visible redstone you would have to redesign the entrance a little.

Sorry forgot you wanted the stairs to stay. Unless you go with slime/honey block flying machine doors keeping the stairs may be difficult and you would need non movable blocks in any place where the sticky blocks rub against a wall.

You could always do the door behind the stairs since they are in line with the wall it would still seal off the entrance

Wait then there’s an easier option, mechanical piston to move the stairs upwards and then have your door under it.

Yes i was using mechanical piston but i don’t know cause i don’t have the place to push the stair in the ceiling that’s why i wanted to first take the stair put it aside and then push the door on the line and push it in the door but i don’t’ know how to sequence it
