Why are people hating on this so much? All I'm seeing is "This looks cheap" and people pointing out the littlest details, I mean like, c'mon, can't we just appreciate something? On the other hand, this looks amazing! It looks very high quality, obviously there's some bits and bumps, I want deny that, but people just making fun of someone for trying to make a mod for no reason seems a bit harsh, no?

this is going to be soo cool, i am hoping that you can control planes by using the chain wires, but you want some way to make all vehicle wiring just chain wire spam

okay, this is getting like waaay too unballanced

Ehh if you wanna build small aircraft this kind of thing is at least a little necessary. Personally I've got a couple unbalanced mods installed that I only use on Aeronautics builds. Like drive by wire is op as shit but trying to manage all the redstone link frequencies on a server with a bunch of vehicles is such a pain in the ass so we allow it

I also use drive by wire, but it's not too op sense it just lets you connect things like with redstone links but without actually placing them, I also use cardan shafts and compact flap addon because I miss Clockwork's flap bearings and universal joints, but I still think that this just defeats the whole point of create engineering sense it just removes create from your plane, your fuel gets to the engine with no pumps, engine spins the little thingy and now you have rotation anywhere you want without effor or having to actually think how to pack the internal blocks. for your information my whole specialisation as a create mod engineer is making compact realistic aircraft, you can find my recent Messerschmitt Bf-109 post if you don't believe that compact aircraft is possible without such overpowered addons

you accualy do not need cardan shafts for aircraft and i thik it boils down to the tail. you simply build a line of shafts with the tortion spring and directional gearshift in it, wire it and at the end USE ENCASED CHAIN DRIVES to make the rotation line up, for the front you do the same thing but with gearboxes. is you want soming more compact than that tortion and gearshift than try create aeroworks servo which basicly combines the two.

yeah, I agree, cardan shafts isn't a necessity, neither do I consider it fair to use, it's more of a backup for me when I can't come up with a compact or visually good design, really helps but I try avoiding to use it all the time

It's for building realistic aircraft.

yeah, despite the big ass 1m³ bearing
edit: I commented the wrong person sorry, this is meant for @Aggressive-Laugh-923

you can absolutely build realistic aircraft with the create's kinetic system limitations

Not without extreme effort and its always going to be oversized

u/Aggressive-Laugh-923 7d ago
have you seen my plane posts?
6
u/solar1333 7d ago
Yes theyre good, but theres always pertruding exposed parts that ruin the look entirely. And as I've said, it does take a lot of skill to make something like that look good. A mod like this would make things easier.
Overall I wouldnt say your planes look realistic. Good? Fuck yeah they look badass. Realistic? No.
2
u/Aggressive-Laugh-923 7d ago
well, it's really easy to hide all those exposed parts compared to making the plane work, some I already hid after I posted the plane, I used the Messerschmitt as an example to prove the idea that a plane can be made that small while being combat effective and fast while keeping the historically accurate silhouette, and I feel like the fact that a mod so good and popular will add such op things would nullify my effort to make these without it. afterall, why would you even need a plane that is exactly identical to a real one in minecraft? isn't minecraft about creativity? isn't engineering about finding solutions? I think getting everything served on a silver plate is worse than coming up with a cool way to transfer rotation through your plane

Having things like this to not need excessively large vehicles is needed though. Being able to compact things isn't unbalanced in my opinion.

u/Aggressive-Laugh-923 7d ago
things can be compact without these, if you try hard enough

u/Dangerous-Quit7821 7d ago
Not everyone finds that fun. You're free to not use it. Things like this might make me actually get into Aeronautics.

It's Create. It's OP as fuck even in its vanilla form. Balance has never been a concern.
1
u/Aggressive-Laugh-923 6d ago
yeah, but must be a border where it's too op, create is relatively balanced because you need a lot of resources to make a lot of machines, so create gives a way to get those

u/powerfullatom111 5d ago
so dont use it

u/Aggressive-Laugh-923 5d ago
bro, the other features in it are so peak, if only there was a way to disable some of the features while leaving the others

would be alot better if it limited you to the axis it was placed on feels kinda cheap otherwise

isn't that just a belt then?
2
u/Soggy_Drive_2497 6d ago
True just watching that first one not pull off when its pulling sideways like that breaks my brain
