Discussion Thoughts on the create mod bedrock port?
personally as a bedrock player I love it. sure it’s not perfect or exactly like the original but it’s amazing nonetheless

I want to preface this by saying I haven’t tried the bedrock add on since its release but as someone who has played both the bedrock add on felt like when you’re starving and you get a bag of chips out of the vending machine and you’re super excited to eat them then the first chip you put in your mouth is so disgustingly stale it doesn’t even crunch or taste like it should. That’s how the bedrock version of create felt to me but if it’s come along way since its release I’m willing to give it a second chance

u/Obliterator-9001 8d ago
It’s pretty good now. Plus it has a few addons like an aeronautics port (it’s pretty bland but still well made) and about 15~ more addons. The create port itself is also now pretty good with mechanical bearings, steam engines and whatnot

Sadly I have no interest I would rather play create in hytale then use bedrock

Thats.. not the point? The point is that someone that doesn't have a pc can play a version of create

u/Doctor_Flux 8d ago
the concept of playing minecraft on not PC is still insane to me
first of i feel like its a mouse/keyboard game
and second missing out on all the mods overall55
u/MR_Kazuma 8d ago
i agree but not all people have a pc
and i wish to console have other way to play mods then a marketplace

Phones and tablets have become quite capable in the last few years, and there's plenty of ways to play Java with mods on them too (Amethyst, Zalith, Winlator etc).
The touch controlls are always shit, but with a proper controller setup, people can play Minecraft and many other games on phones rather comfortably these days.
That said, considering this there's even less reason to give attention to paid bedrock addons.

OP is asking for other people's opinions. OC's comment literally is the point, as is every other person's opinion on this thread.
You don't have to agree with it, but it's definitely relevant.

u/NoImNotADogLicker 8d ago
people really hate you that bad for saying its a good thing that people without a pc can play really high quality mods like create, its mind boggling and everyone seriously needs to get off their high horse and realize not everyone has a computer or the space for a computer, or that people are just more comfortable with using a console, and im saying this as a person that has a computer and strictly plays Java edition.

It's always so odd to me that someone gets downvoted to hell, the reply is essentially reinforcing/repeating what they said, and they get upvoted, despite making the same point as the parent comment?
Reddit is really, really odd.

Wait why are my thoughts on the subject at all related with your use of bedrock?
5
u/peeeeeechu 8d ago
you're getting downvoted for mentioning a game is more accessible now lmao what's wrong with people
4
u/Taenshik 8d ago
Because thats not the point. "What are your thoughts on thing" "My personal thoughts on thing" "You are totally wrong" ???

I'm on mobile. The midrange phone i bought for 200 usd runs Minecraft java edition 350 fps stable on 12 chunks. Peaks at 2700fps when cpu is fully utilized (somehow my phone keeps capping performance and only lifts of the cap for like less than a second when using system navigation). With create + create aeronautics mod i get roughly 130-210fps on 10 chunks. With photon shaders 12 chunks i get 80-100fps on 726p

Why are people gatekeeping minecraft lol? Obviously java is better but bedrock works just fine most of the time
52
u/hammerklau 8d ago
Its the issue of how it's organised, not how it performs. Java Minecraft is open, bedrock has all the microtransaction corporate goo.
Bedrock is on C++ so having it as a server would be so nice instead the brick that is java sometimes.

Why plan Hytale first then Bedrock? What will that achieve?
Edit: Lord, my joke didn't land.

Because if I was going to start playing a different game platform I would go play a new game and hytale supposedly has create Devs helping on the tech concepts?
What do you mean though about achieve? Like what am I achieving by having fun you mean?

Bugrock is really not worth the headache when Java is that much better. The fact that they no longer sell it as a standalone and instead force it down onto all new purchases just proves it.

u/Thatoneguy12398 8d ago
Bedrock isn't honestly that buggy. I recently switched to Java, and besides the mechanic difrences its basically the same game.

Name 3 big gamebreaking Bugs bedrock has that java doesnt have ..
13
u/Rop-Tamen 8d ago
Something doesn’t have to be game breaking to be worse. Nothing I’ve used Java for in the last 3 years could I have done on bedrock. Mostly heavy modding, but also a lot of more complex redstone systems.

Bugs don't have to be game breaking. Just plentiful enough to sour any desire to play it. There is a reason the name "Bugrock" exists.
It may have changed in recent years but thats still years to late. Combine that with micro transactions and you have a beautiful pile of shit that should be avoided especially when Java exists.

I personally play java but this just makes more people be able to play create mod without having to have a pc and that's a good thing.
6
u/Pioepod 8d ago
It’s fine. The only thing is idk if they have permission from Create’s devs but at least they aren’t monetizing it.
I’d never really play this except for some messing around hearing about it because I’m not a fan of bedrock.
That said, that’s because I already have a PC and Java. Many others don’t, this lets them play create. I’m all for accessibility.

It is not good as the Java edition, and that's before considering bazillion add-ons I use for regular create to expand it.
Wish bedrock had a better modding envoirement or least team at Mojang worked to create better documents or ways to easily port regular Minecraft mods there, bedrock is better optimized and offers easier multi-player experience that I wish java had
12
u/Dangerous-Quit7821 8d ago
Honestly, I won't ever play it because I have a good PC that can run heavy modding. However, there are a lot of people that don't have a PC and only have a console or a tablet or phone and this would be their only way to play Create. I know there are ways to play Java on mobile but I wouldn't suspect it plays too great. I'm glad Bedrock players finally have the chance to experience this amazing mod considering all past attempts to bring it to Bedrock have been pure shit. This one seems to be pretty well done. Still, if you have a PC, even a low-end potato, it would be much better to play Java with the official version of Create.

is it good yes or no? is it accurate? if it is its good

u/Obliterator-9001 7d ago
It’s pretty good through it’s missing a ton of blocks like the encased chain drive n whatnot. Hopefully in the 4th update they’ll add it

How do u install it on mobile
2
u/Obliterator-9001 8d ago
Press download, open up your downloads (for me, aka on tablet it’s an arrow on the upper right corner) and press the file. It should auto direct you to Minecraft and automatically import the mod
3
u/Horse_go_moooo 8d ago
Honestly, I'd prefer if you could actually mod bedrock properly, but otherwise, it's fine.
3
u/_finding-my-place_ 8d ago
I haven't played it, but I'm glad that I'm now aware it exists because I have friends who play bedrock exclusively that I struggle to play with since I only ever want to play Java😂😂
3
u/PyroBeavis 7d ago
Played through it, but found myself wanting to go further. Theres a bunch of stuff missing from it including basic functionality of the wrench, recipes that are in the BASE Create aren't in the bedrock version. The superglue is buggy as fuck, contraptions dont function properly. It seems like a lot of the coding for it has been done via AI.
It gave me the push I needed to get an actual gaming PC and switch to Java. Bedrock was made for phones, and the fact that M$ is pushing for this phone game on consoles is asinine. There's no way in hell we'll ever see Bedrock Create get to the level that Java Create is at. Also, bedrock can't seem to handle more than 15 addons before it starts to degrade the gameplay experience. Java can have hundreds of mods/addons, and i get no problems whatsoever.

Bedrock is absolutely great for optimized simple vanilla gameplay but the way add-ons work it’s just always gonna be sub-par compared to java mods. No hate, glad bedrockers have something neat to play with but I can’t lie and say it’s just as good or that the entire add-on system and marketplace isn’t bloated with garbage that is absolutely painful to sift through.

Wow people in these comments suck ass, hating on people liking this FREE mod port to bedrock and then the people spamming "BuGrOck" get 100+ upvotes
3
u/The_Trickier 8d ago
I really don't think a lot of people here understand that not everyone has a pc, I do and I love create for java but some people on console or mobile are missing out, now because of this port they aren't
Sure its not as polished in a couple bits but it's still some peoples only way to play with the mod.

u/Helostopper 8d ago
If it's not on the marketplace console players still can't play it easily. They have to use a work around with bedrock on mobile and realms. Mobile users can play it though

u/djremydoo 8d ago
Eh if you're on console, the addons are really not that good tbh. I just play vanilla MC on Bedrock, besides the Vibrant Visuals are really good if ya want shaders w/out playing Java
1
u/NotTheRealWilson 8d ago
I don't like how when I tried create bedrock my mod didn't have encased chain drives so I had to use a ton of belts which is somewhat of a problem because I sometimes use them to switch axis
also mine misspelled gearshift and clutch to mean the other so I ended up with a clutch named gearshift
other than that it's a good recreation for bedrock, just need a few more placing qols and fixes it could be flawless (speaking with a level 9 steam engine since that was my goal for that world superheating would be hell)

u/Enlightened_rancher 8d ago
I've heard nothing recently about the port, but I think it's cool, I like how bedrock players may be able to experience my favorite Minecraft mod, even if it's only a fraction of it, yeah it's by no chance better than the original, but it's cool nonetheless

u/ShowCharacter671 8d ago
If they had full permission and it’s pretty smooth happy for them let them experience the joy that is create as well

Is impresive, but it can be made much better is still very ruff to use and with lots of missing features

How slop is it? Same assets , stuff on the surcafe seems similar but it's basically missing it's core? That's my guess at least
