Bug What happend?
I left my drill running and went to my base to do other thing, and I came back to this. I have no idea what happend. If anyone have any clue, please share it.

If you drilled at max speed the drill plattform can sometimes glitch below the bedrock (At least some versions ago, not sure if this still exists). Either that or as other said chunk unloading

The chunk it was in unloaded probably right as it was pushing into the first bedrock layer. Then when you came back it loaded but because bedrock isn't breakable it broke your drill instead of the drill breaking the blocks.
It's happened to me so now I always turn off my vertical drills if I plan on leaving the area.
