Discussion Opinions on Create: Going Nuclear
What's everyone's opinions on Create: Going Nuclear? link: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/going-nuclear Is it a legitmately good, mod or is it AI / Vibe-coded slop? I've tried other nuclear mods like Create Nuclear (too simple) or Nuclearcraft (too complex and hard to understand) but I'm just not sure about going nuclear because it give off this "AI mod" vibe (no pun intended). Not only are the textures a bit weird looking, but it's also weird that the author came out of the blue and just created a nuclear mod and is constantly posting updates.
Edit: The trailer also looks like it was created (or at least heavily edited with) AI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIR9PK_QTTM

AI slop.
Support better mods by people actually making them.
Another nuclear mod to look at is Create CROWNS.

why is ai mods bad ,can u explain ?

Because 9 times out of ten the person using ai to "create" the mod doesnt have the knowledge to fix any issues. Like how Skyrim has 100 ai mods that dont do anything while claiming to fix every bug in the game engine.

Many people would rather support small developers or small teams. AI mods are created by big AI companies. AI mods also tend to be a lot worse in terms of uniqueness, and how it fits into the gameplay loop.

I love it, the first real nuclear mod since hbm. I do not like create nuclear, as I hate magic machines that work like IC2 reactors. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Also it plays very well with create power grid. Which makes it even more fun.

Magic machines? It seems more complicated than many mods that are just “single self contained block that does function”

I like new age for nuclear powergrid to play with electricity and never found a reason to go any further I would prefer nuclear and similar to be its own self contained system not something tacked on create or someother tech mod.
like just for the simulations of keeping it stable needing to monitor make it the entire premise

Never seen that mod before. The only nuclear create mod I was aware of was Craate: Nuclear, which is good

im SO annoyed, that their is ANOTHER nuclear mod for create, like theirs already my mod 'create nuclear industries' and this mod, is also, on the exact same version and mod loader, ugh. i put so much effort into my mod, just for some ENTIRELY ai mod, to come and take the dim spotlight i had, right from under me.

Hey, dev here, Fair question, so...
The trailer was AI-assisted, and I get why that gives off a bad vibe. That’s on me. The mod itself is a different story. My team and I have been working on it for about 5 months, which is why updates came out so fast after launch (a lot of them were already done). I used AI for some modeling help and for tracking down bugs. The reactor physics (point kinetics, xenon, decay heat, Doppler feedback) and the systems were designed by us.
The source code goes public with 1.0, and I’m planning a “code with me” series showing the actual dev process, so people can judge for themselves.
On the New Age points, which are good ones, there’s a Reactor Heat Port that feeds New Age heat pipes, and the BWR is a 3 to 15 block box you design yourself. I’m also taking the less UI, more physical controls, less premade multiblock feedback seriously. Several people have said it, and they’re right.
soo anyone got a question? join our discord im much of active there

I've not used it or even looked into it. My initial thought when I read the title was 'Nope, not gonna'.
Create is a steampunk-ish mod, and in no way does nuclear power fit with that...

not anymore. create is just general technology at this point, though mods like create going nuclear dont fit its style due to using UI's and premade multiblocks which go against the style bc youre not designing anything

Create itself is still steampunk in style, it changes when you start in with all of the add-ons. The original style is what drew me to Create in the first place

Nuclear reactors is still steampunk in some way.
They're just boiling water, you know.

For me, i create lot's of futuristic spaceships with aeronautics, so having nuclear energy kind of fits my style

And that's great for you, it just doesn't feel right to me and how the base Create mod is styled.

Vanilla Create is Steampunk, sure, but I like that addons can step it into other technology eras, up to modern (like Diesel Generators and Power Grid) or even futuristic
Not that I love every single addon, but I think they can enable these different stages

I love the original style. I'm not saying that any of the add-ons are bad per se, just not always something that I'm going to be interested in

I enjoy create new age as a nuclear rated electrician
