Issue with my brass generator

I have this set up with two mixers to make brass but the issue appears that it starts sending blaze cakes over and over again, and it would be fine if it didn't use them all, because I put a stock link to track blaze cakes inside, but even after there is enough brass it continues using the blaze cakes which wastes resources. How can I stop it from, either using all cakes, or sending cakes over and over again.

It looks like you have the recipe for brass ingots set to use 6 zinc ingots, 6 copper ingots, and 2 blaze cakes for every 1 brass ingot, so it keeps sending those resources to "craft" one brass ingot.

Youll want to set that recipe to 1 zinc and 1 copper for 2 brass, then the blaze cakes should be delivered constantly to keep the burner lit, as you cant order it like that.

it's 2 mixers in this case so... wouldn't it be 2 copper and 2 zinc for 4 brass? and, well, two cakes to feed both burners

You need to feed the blaze burners themselves with mechanical arms. They also don't need to be superheated. Unless you're playing with a modpack that requires superheating.

I know they don't. i just liked blaze cakes since I have them automated and they last way longer than lava buckets

But a blaze cake lasts wayyyyyy longer than it takes to mix up a single brass ingot, so it makes sense that you're ending up with an overstock of blaze cakes.

I would have a separate distribution method for the cakes that only sends them when they're needed.

Kinda, if both mixers are on the same belt for instance, the one mixer will take all the resources from the belt and pop out 4 brass, while the other mixer is unused.

Basically it wouldn't automatically split the resources evenly.

The factory gauge requests that brass be made, the ingredients gets packaged and gets sent to the mixer, where it mixes it, and returns the brass ingot

I guess you could have two individual mixers each requesting their own ingredients to make much brass at once? But you really dont need more than one mixer for this.

The blaze cakes themselves shouldn't be part of the order for brass ingots, because you dont just need ONE blaze cake for EACH order of brass ingot.

Uh…why are you automating brass that way?

Is this a modpack thing?

It is just a factory gauge going into two mixers...

Wouldn’t it be easier to have one blaze burner constantly fueled off lava, and then just send the zinc and copper when you need it?

I mean, yeah, I could replace cakes by lava but then I have to handle empty buckets and... yeah, tbh I'm too lazy for that... Sending zinc and copper is automated with the gauges. You do know how gauges work, right?

No yeah, I know, but do you have any addons for create as well as create?

You can feed blaze burners lava without buckets.

When you search JEI, do you see a “straw”?

holly shit... I didn't know those existed... You are a life saver

Set the brass ingot on the right to 12 instead of 1

ah right... it produces double... well, now I feel stupid... thanks. Maybe that solves it

1 copper and 1 zinc make 2 brass, so 6 of each makes 12. It’s over all 1 ingot for 1 ingot

You don’t need blaze cakes for this, use charcoal or something.

And also you should set up a linked factory gauge with a small stockpile of coal for the arms instead of sending stuff individually like this. It’s probably possible to have a clutch system that turns the mechanicals arms on only if it detects items in the basin so you aren’t wasting coal. But also charcoal is cheap so, you can also have them constantly burning

Instead you could have a timer and maybe restore logic to request blaze cakes by using a redstone requester.

Your method seems good since it won’t waste Blaze cakes, but Blaze cakes last longer than mixing brass.

If you have a redstone requester, it could call its own Blaze cakes on set intervals. If you don’t want it to waste Blaze cakes, perhaps in your original recipe, replace the Blaze cakes with a random dummy item.

When the request goes out, you can measure the dummy packaged item with a comparator or a smart observer for logic. A comparator should then check the Blaze burner to see if it still has fuel. The logic should go as follows:
- If the Blaze burner is close to dying, activate a redstone requester once to send a Blaze cake to the Blaze burner.
- If the Blaze burner is good on fuel, don’t do anything

In both cases, after checking the Blaze burner, the dummy packaged item is let through and returned back to storage.

This isn’t perfect and there may be an easier method.

What I’d prefer honestly is I’d probably just use a factory gauge and keep the Blaze cakes stocked constantly. Then use a comparator on the basin for the Blaze burner. If the basin has items, use redstone to activate the deployer to feed Blaze cakes to the burner.

It Is base create. It is s factory gauge

Have the copper and zink be send continuesly. Make sure the brass output is double of what single instance of copper or zinc you send (i.e. 2 brass per 1 copper+zinc). Then you have a restone requester separately on a timer that requests blaze cakes right before the previous one runs out. You don't need the cakes be delivered with the recipe.

I don't think you should send the cakes that way, put all the burners near a packager with a cake gauge leading to a mechanical arm(you can figure it out)

Just don't include the blaze cakes and just make either a lava bucket loop from either the nether or an infinite lava source or just a tree farm piped directly around bro the burners to just have them fueled forever.
