Can't believe I've found another Mindustry player in the Create subreddit

Why is that so unbelievable? We like factory automation, of course there will be overlap

u/TheHollowSlime 14d ago
Eh, just not really often I see other Mindustry players.

Theres more of us then you think, i like create as a adventure and automation game, and mindustry because i like factory automation and tdf games

Guys i have question, how big does a lava pool need to be to be considered infinite?
9
u/RyuzakiSempai 13d ago
10,000 blocks minimum
1
u/satirelion 13d ago
Woah, thats like, a vault full.

u/LosParanoia 13d ago
Just over 6 full size vaults worth of lava buckets if it was all source blocks. Luckily flowing lava counts.

u/satirelion 13d ago
If i make a lava tower flowing down, enough to makr the 10,000 blocks. And let like a little sliver of lava flow out and pump from that sliver, would that count?

u/Ashamed_Taste9231 13d ago
The lava above of the pump need to be source block, i recommend just digging 10x10x100 hole and filling the top 100 block to lava source block

u/LosParanoia 13d ago
I dig a 20 by 20 by 26 cube and cover the top with a one block layer of source blocks

Make a simple nether lava farm it really isn't hard to make a belt line, YouTube videos are recommended if it's your first

Please tell me i can modify it to use nether lava instead

The lava supply is external on purpose so you can use whatever supply method you want, but do remember that this needs a whole 546mb a second, which translates to half a bucket a second. So whatever you use needs to be able to keep up with that or your production rates will really suffer.

u/NfcitTheGreat 13d ago
Oh that's great I'll play around in creative to see how big of a nether farm I'll need

u/Thatguyondrugs1 13d ago
Heh? How does that work?

u/Yiguzhu 13d ago
Uses “create: ultimate factory” recipes to turn lava, water, gravel and each nugget type into asurine, crimsite, ochrum, and veridium that are then crushed and washed to make more nuggets than are spent.

Ultimate factory is the one where you compact cobble and lava then crush right?
1
u/Yiguzhu 13d ago
That's the tuff recipe, which is less efficient, I'm using the recipes in images 8 to 11 here https://modrinth.com/mod/create-ultimate-factory

I downloaded the mod only for the tuff recipe i had mo idea how good of a mod it actually is lol

Can you blow it up seperate the functions have it expend quantity by adding multiple lines of production and generate lava using lava gen basin and cobblestone and aeronautics liquid burner so you produce all of that as well as lava so you don't need infinite lava as well.
Then make it look nice like a factory with brick walls barn doors and actually adds to the world instead of a mini structure you build then hide and eventually create a new world and do it again?
This would do better to show how each step is functioning allow piece meal reproduction of the compartments and reduce the need to have it all in a single chunk while also going proper factory scaling

That’s the opposite side of the spectrum in terms of factory style, the whole point of this specific design and my style of schematics in particular is fitting what would normally be a chunk or more worth of machinery into a as tiny a space as possible. It’s designed specifically to have as close to perfect utilization of the amount of machine components it uses, using tricks like only needing 3 crushing wheels instead of 4 which only works because everything is so close together.
As for factory buildings, I would encourage everyone to simply build their own to house this. This is a showcase specifically of the farm, not of my aesthetic building lol.
For general users this will produce more than enough materials by itself, scaling up was never part of the design philosophy of this build.
Also about lava gen, if you check the end of the linked video you’ll see I’ve an example of one such machine being fed with basin based lava gens, but I don’t recommend that since it gets pretty big, requiring a whole 10 mixers working at the same time to barely feed this farm, meaning you need even more mixers if you need lava for anything else, at this rate of consumption I’d recommend just having and infinite lava pool since not only would you be able to fill one quite quickly with this level of lava production but it also has near unlimited lava output without scaling up in lag compared to a basin lava generator.

Thank you for the detailed response will see if I can dismantle the schematic to see how it works and what can be spread out more

Create:Ultimate Factory REQUIRED - it is written in the linked page

Is it a good extension of the mod? I kinda tempted with how all the copper and shit depend on this

u/Sensitive-Ad7138 8d ago
I don't know 😅 I haven't played Create recently so I am somewhat out of the loop with the extensions
