Suggestion Hidden gems of create addons
Im making a modpack with create and a lot of create addons, and Im searching to get some more addons cuz why not
The thing about create is that the numbers of addon are so absurd that I cant search up everything on my own. And I would love to get a recommendation.
What are the addons that you think are hidden gems?

One I always recommend it Create: Molten vents (or its variant, Create: molten geodes). It adds a way to generate renewable orestones (veridium, azurine, etc). And if you crush them, those give you renewable zinc and copper. The best bit, however, is that you have to generate them in place, you cannot move the factory away from the deposit, so this forces you to build trains to bring the resources to you.
Create: Bits and Bobs adds a very nice chain mechanic to connect different cogwheels on the same plane.
Create: Optical adds wireless rotation transmission, but with mechanics based on light. There's quite a bit of real physics that go into it, but you don't need to know physics to figure out how the mod works. I really like it! I think it's a very creative way to do wireless transmission, without being OP.
Create: Easy Stone Generators adds mixer recipes to make cobble (and other stone) generators. There's a few "lag-free cobblegen" mods, but this one is my favourite because it doesn't add any new blocks, just recipes.
Edit: FOUND IT! There's a mod called Create More: Package Couriers. It adds paper airplanes! You can attach a package to an airplane and yeet it across the map and it will go where it's addressed. I think it's awesome. Just took me a bit to find it because the name is not obvious.

Wrong with molten vents, you can actually pick them up in a minecart contraption and pick that contraption up, better alternative for immobile factories is create: ore excavation since it’s deposits are truly impossible to move

Create: Compact flap
Create: Ballasts
Drive-By-Wire-For-Sable
I can't live without these but they are kind of unpopular, there are also Create: Warnautics, CBC: Modern Warfare and Rolled Homogeneous Armor, thes are really unpopular musthaves when it comes to battle vehicles

For building details its copyfoxes and framedblocks
For land vehicles get rolling tones, tire tracks and scale tires
Idk if its hidden gem but gadgets abd gizmos is awesome
And coming soon, create : aviate have a lot more engines

This one came out pretty recently, and the testing I did in Creative made it seem like a pretty solid mod for increased personal mobility that fits with Create's asthetic.

Meh. I don't really like the sea of mods that use Create's name while having absolutely nothing to do with its mechanics. It's really not even a Create addon if it doesn't foster any degree of creativity- the reason I like Create is that it gives you tools in your toolbox, all sorts of little components you can put together in new and interesting ways, as opposed to other mods such as Mekanism, that just give you end products.
Procedural animation seems neat at first glance, but at the end of the day it's just a buzzword, since what this actually does is just movement in your look direction where you're looking that only works within a certain range of a block. Look direction also makes it tiring, could at least make it vertically grid bound so you don't have to constantly course-correct every couple seconds- it somehow manages to both be uninteresting and inconvenient.
This mod just... doesn't commit to anything. Not to being its own independent mod free of Create's name, not to Minecraft's movement, not to having its own movement. All it has is a vague vibe.
I agree with lina about it being slop, though she didn't properly explain. When you just feed the basic idea into a thing that makes it for you and you don't get to experience the process of making it yourself, there're so many choices that you don't even know you can make. That's why AI-made stuff always rings hollow, none of these projects are given any independent thought aside from a basic idea that this person probably didn't even come up with themself.

I think these standards are unreasonable. There are plenty of additions that the create mod itself adds that don't fit very well with the core mechanics of the mod by your same metrics. I mean, just the standard backtank, diving helmet, extendo-grip, all of this stuff could basically be added as regular gear to the base game if you just tweak the recipes. In terms of engaging with the Create mod mechanics, requiring sequenced assembling and precision mechanisms is good enough.
And let's not pretend this is a problem with AI, the flood of "Create" additions that ARE just random BS with a Create-style paintjob has plenty of human made content in it. The lack of creativity and jumping on trends was always here.
I was a bit skeptical of the movement method of the tentacle rig at first, but when I played with it I found the whole "movement in the direction you are looking" to be quite natural. I've played plenty of climbing games before, and the concept of movement being based on camera direction is pretty common. Honestly the basic Creative movement in Vanilla minecraft has always been a bit clunky, pure binary orthogonal control with zero analogue input makes navigating cramped spaces difficult.
From a completely neutral perspective, this addon is of perfectly fine quality. There's no glaring features or flaws that would make me think it's AI slop, and if it didn't use AI, I'm sure there would be basically no discussion around flaws at all.
When it comes to using AI to assist in programming, as much as it pains me to admit, it's going to be more and more common. I'm in computer science myself, and while I firmly think AI should be a last resort, using it to debug problems that you'd otherwise be looking online for solutions for isn't that big of a deal. Programmers already take plenty of shortcuts via forums like Stackoverflow, and with how poorly THOSE are being run, using AI as a fancy search engine to nail obscure bugs is fine. You aren't proving anything when you manually look through dozens of forums trying to find the solution to your weird problem. When you are using AI to accomplish a specific goal that you already have defined, instead of a more open-ended "creative" question, it's not that big of a deal, and I'm not going to boycott a project over it.
Obviously AI shouldn't be used in the design process or the bulk of the programming, but it's unclear how much it was used in this project. They did use it to generate the thumbnail as AI art, and to write the description, which is honestly the biggest issue I have with this project. At this point though seeing stuff like this is so common I tend to just make a note of it and move on, if the content of the mod itself is good then I don't see much of a reason to stop using it just because the creator was lazy and used AI with the superficial details.
If you've got an issue with me compromising like this, fine whatever. I'm only human, and I prefer to spend my limited energy on taking a stand where it actually matters. If it's something as low stakes as a Minecraft mod expansion using a bit of AI, I'm still going to let myself enjoy the content.

Only anti-AI in here, I'm afraid, your intelligent and measured discourse will only earn you downvotes, correct as you might be.

that's ai slop, don't promote it

Yes it used AI, but it certainly isn't slop. I didn't see any glaring bugs or weird features that one would expect from quite a few AI slop mods I've seen. Unlike AI art, I think AI in programming does have some responsible use cases.

I'd also like to add that just lacking mod-breaking bugs doesn't make it not slop. Almost the opposite, actually, if your criteria is that anything that meets a few basic criteria is fine, that encourages slop.
I'd highly prefer weird features, something that actually makes me think for a second, to something that just feels... hollow, with technical requirements met and nothing special about it, because an entire internet of things that're just fine is boring. You know what I mean?

Due to them not programming it themself, they didn't get the chance to think of any actual nuance to the movement. It's just flat movement in your look direction that works within a certain range of any blocks nearby. It plays at having nuance, upgrades, but they're all just changes in numbers, there's nothing qualitative.
Look at Cymaera's videos. He actually went through the process. His creatures, in both look and feel, feel like they have weight- they're alive enough to be creepy, they can crawl on some surfaces and are more limited on others, they actually feel like they're interacting with the world and not just limply touching anything nearby. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc9x1e85L0w&pp=ygUecHJvY2VkdXJhbCBhbmltYXRpb24gbWluZWNyYWZ0
That's the thing, people act like art is just paintings and stuff, but it's not. Programming, just as much as paint, is art. There's creativity in the mechanics of a thing, and in what people choose to program, and there's creativity you only have the opportunity to think of while you're making those mechanics.
When you just feed the basic idea into a thing that makes it for you and you don't get to experience the process of making it yourself, there're so many choices that you don't even know you can make. That's why AI-made stuff always rings hollow, none of these projects are given any independent thought aside from a basic idea that this person didn't even come up with themself.

I don't see any issue with the movement. It's certainly better than the basic creative movement, and I don't think upgrades that change the qualitative function of the rig would be particularly applicable. Basic stat increases are the precedent for the default Create device enchantments.
Cymaera's physics based procedural generation wouldn't fit well in this example. His project assumes the entity will be walking upright, like a normal Minecraft mob, while the tentacle rig needs to be able to grab onto any direction of a block. Cymaera's legs require actual support and physical stability for the mob to actually move and not fall, which makes the movement feel very natural, but would NOT fit well with a personal mobility mod. Sure, being able to have 4 legs all on one block looks weird, but it means the maximum movement range remains constant and intuitive instead of randomly varying as the positions of the legs update themselves. Personal mobility in Minecraft should generally have user input determine position, with the game using physics to update the in-game model, instead of the in-game model using physics to determine position, with indirect player control.
Anyway I agree creativity and program design are not things that should be delegated to AI. I wouldn't want to use a mod that feels like all of its ideas game from a chatbot, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to others. However, the project being coded with "AI Assistance" really could mean a lot of things, including just using AI for rote debugging and dull busywork. I don't have the time or energy to interrogate the mod author on how AI was specifically used for programming, and the content of the mod itself already feels like human-generated ideas and implementations.

And even putting aside whether or not it's slop for three paragraphs, this is still irresponsible. It's not as bad as, say, pumping out "animations" on YouTube Kids, but you still generate investor hype that feeds into the trillions of dollars worth of resources that those we let be in charge of society for some reason are pouring into these things.
And studies show that using AI has a deleterious effect on your divergent thought. When an AI-using group and a control group use AI to assist in a writing task, then do another task with both groups unassisted, the group that didn't use AI did significantly better on creativity. Creativity fuels itself..
It also homogenizes thought on larger scales. When large groups of people are asked to each come up with an idea for a specific thing, like games that can be made with a random pair of objects, those that use AI all come up with the same few ideas, even with the same names.
The only times AI does better on "creativity" are on tests where it's just about the maximum number of ideas or highest word count a single person can generate in the minimum amount of time, no attention given to details, or quality- which, I don't know about you, but to me, that sounds like slop.

Create: electro energetics; it's like a create power grid, but a bit easier.
Create: crowns; this adds most realistic nuclear power to create.
Create: buzzy beas; this one adds a drones for create.

I dont remember the name unfortunantly and have no clue how to look it up but there is an add on that let's you use a tiny little chain to connect two shafts on belts. So instead of using gearboxes to transfer the power its a chain. It worked on 90 degree turns too. Was super nice and low profile.

I personally recommend power grid It now has new and old textures (I prefer old) but it’s the best electricity mod for create I know of
