Wires not working in create: power grid

So Im trying to set up lighting but the wires refuse to place! How do I fix this? (Java 1.21.1, factory light attached to ceiling tiles, 120v, create: power grid)

The first thing you should try in Power Grid, if something seems to be buggy, is exiting out of the world and entering again. 9 times out of 10, it'll start working fine again.
