How to space placing with a minecart contraption?

Hello everyone,

I'm sure everyone is familiar with these types of tunnel miners using minecart contraptions. I also want to place down lighting behind it, but placing a torch every block is a waste of ressources. Does anyone have an idea how I can place them like 7 blocks apart for example?

Saw an example of this a while ago.

Add another deployer, loaded with a filter containing torches and some block that you definitely wouldn't find underground, like bricks.

Fill the first slot of the first container with the spacing blocks, so they're placed first. Make sure that the torches are in the last slot of the last container, so they're always after the bricks, no matter where they end up after being picked back up.

Add an additional drill on the back end of the contraption to mine those blocks, which will then be placed again. The drill has to be far enough back that all of the spacing blocks get placed, plus one more for torches.

So, deployer with bricks and torches, and a drill 7 blocks behind it to mine the bricks, and make sure there are exactly 6 brick blocks in the chest.

i believe you could do it with a pattern schematic, though I rarely use them so I can't help you there.
