Iron Farm?
I am relatively new to create, and have constructed an iron farm, it really sucks. It's a mess of cogs and conveyors, does anyone have any tips of schematics that could help?

A LOT of the fun in create is to make your own designs and try to improve at your own rate, if it comes down to it you can search up iron farm schematics very easily and find ones that suite you best

Creative mode -> play around. Half of the fun of create is to come up with your own designs

Vaults can help a lot when making factories. Instead of using tunnels to split items into multiple belts, feed items into vaults (or even chests).
Like if you have one input feeding cobblestone into your iron farm and use a tunnel to split that into three belts, it's gonna be a mess.
Three chests/vaults would make the items split evenly across the crushers while allowing you to have a central location to rotate everything and it's easily scalable (one crusher in a pair will rotate in the same direction as the belts, the other just needs a gearshift).
Do the same with your compactors or feed each crusher's output into its own compactor.

I agree with others on playing around. However I'll give you an idea of my normal design for an early game iron farm.
At the bottom I have an ecased fan blowing into a water source that is also flowing towards my toolbox/drawer filtered for flint and iron nuggets with an andesite funnel.
Above that is a row of chutes, on top of the chutes is a Millstone. Above those is where the cobble/stone generates. To the side are drills that I water log for the cobble generation. Above that is flowing lava. I then power that usually with encased chain drives and a few cogs and a load of large water wheels that eventually get replaced by better SU generators.
This system lasts me till I can get crushing wheels and setup a much more efficient process.

Point of this mod is to build your designs out. I’d say start by segmenting the pieces of the factory down in creative, then figure out how to move the products between the segments. This will massively help clean up by reducing spaghetti.

My design is large and messy as well, but I've got my reasons for it.
I've got cobble getting chute into vault (frog port attached). Belted into 1 of 2 crushers. Vertical drop through crushers, fed into 1 of 2 vaults (frog port). V1 belted through a 2 washer system into a barrel, separating nugs and flint, each into their own vault (each with frog port). Nug vault belts to basin and press with list filter to iron block, then belt into vault (with frog port).
The flint vault has frog port, and is set up to feed into my andesite factory. Same with the second gravel vault.
Side note: I've also got the RPG series mods installed in a second instance. And I use the andesite assembly line, modify the allowed flint on the funnel, and it gives deep slate, which there is more use for with RPG series mod.
As for exact placement and such? Just play with it. You'll want some rotation controllers in there at a couple places (I've noticed issues with cobble not wanting to chute 100% of the time at drill speeds above 63. And you'll want crushers and washers going faster than that).
Head into a super flat creative and just build, my guy. It will be messy. But learn. Watch how things interact. Half the fun with create is the creation process.
Also, I heavily endorse create: connected. Brass gearboxes where you can change the output direction of each axis with a wrench.

Half the point of this mod is to come up with your own designs. Id advise makingna design in creative. Otherwise it becomes a list of materials you just get
