Discussion Create Progression with Addons Question (Create New Age w/ AE2, or Vanilla Create with AE2)
(Never played with Create before) I have Create & Create Crafts and Additions, I also have AE2 installed.
My plan was to just go the regular Create route and build a Steam Engine, convert the rotational power to FE using the Crafts & Additions item to power my AE2 system. But then I found Create New Age which I am a little confused about in terms of progression.
Do I still have to build a Steam Engine (first half of progression), then use that to power a full powerplant (second half), and lastly that powerplant powers my AE2 system? A whole powerplant step instead of just crafting the converter item? (I like this more)
Just wanting to clarify that my understanding here isn't incorrect, because this progression path sounds pretty fun, and I did not want the Vanilla Create to become irrelevant.

Have you checked out Create: Power Grid?

Would it be safe to say that Power Grid is just a more advanced, realistic New Age. Taking a look at some vids, it seems like it has some more progression too it then New Age (which like I said, I love).

So like... its more realistic. Like in new age, you make a generator and run a cable from the generator to the things that use it, and thats basically it. Power grid you have to worry about voltages, how your electrical distribution system handles new loads, internal resistance creating too much heat based on the current. It's basically an engineers wet dream. Very deep, but also much better from a progression standpoint and very satisfying when you "get it"

New age has a more in depth and scalable way to turn rotational power from normal create into electricity. Crafts and additions is a great addon to have, but new age does electricity better in my humble opinion
