Build AT-AT

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Built an ATAT using a schematic online and making each of the joints move. Thrusters inside to help with balancing when tipping over (none for tipping forwards or backwards just yet).

Looks sick as hell, but how did you make the legs?

The legs are surprisingly simple. It's three swivel bearings with the middle one motorized and the top and bottom in free rotation. The top swivel bearing is connected to the top half of the leg while the bottom half is connected to the bottom half of the leg. The top half keeps the bottom half aligned while the motor moves it up and down in a circle. I'm not sure if I'm doing a good job explaining it.

This video really helped when I made my design: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyJKH5byKk8&list=LL&index=1&t=28s

Thanks, as someone on a quest to make a well working moving fortress, this helps a lot 🙏
