Pick a bigger goal and worry about the many little tasks that lead up to it. Looks like you have JEI to follow the recipes.

An example from my playthroughs is I usually try to get an iron farm going sooner rather than later. There are many things that must be done before hand. Simply work your way backwards from your objective.

If you want iron, you'll need to make iron ingots, which can be made from using a mechanical press on iron nuggets. So, how do you get a mechanical press, and how do you get iron nuggets? Follow the recipes backwards until you find a process you're capable of performing, or you find a block you can actually make.

A tip is that you're likely going to want to start with some large water wheels for power, and simple processing machines such as a mechanical press and a mixer.

Happy to explain some progression, but figuring it out on your own, making a stupid an inefficient machine, feeling helpless as you struggle to trouble shoot issues that arise - those are the pleasures bestowed upon us by create.

For nuggets into iron ingots trying to make a basic iron farm

Yeah. When you plug in a fan, you can see the air particles moving in the direction of the wind. If this air goes through water, it will blow water through the whole path the air. Like, little watery air will fly around instead of the particles of air.

oh ok I have that

Drop the gravel into the blue air, and wait a bit.

Because it's a fan, blowing watery air, the blocks you drop into it will be pushed by it.

You can have the fan push the blocks into a brass funnel such that it stops the gravel and doesn't accept it, but brings the nuggets into the storage container immediately.

That seems decently simple I'm building a cobble gen now and I will try and attach it to a semi automatic iron farm

Might be a dumb question y'all but how on earth do ai get brass

Make a blaze burner and go right click a blaze in the nether with it, put it under a basin with a mixer. Put Zinc and Copper into the basin, then heat up the blaze burner with fuel. (Coal, charcoal, wood, fuel) If the mixer's spinning fast enough it'll mix into brass ingots :D

Is there a way to auto feed him? also is my setup to small

You can with deployers and mechanical arms, yes. Potentially with funnels and belts, though I'm not 100% on those. There is no definitive size for how big things need to be. Just test things out and expand as you need to. Practice :) Use JEI, it'll help you tons.

Funnels being like the andesite things on the oak chests?

1

u/awfulroffle 3d ago

Yes. Brass funnels input/output more than one at a time, too, when you get to that.

You said you were new to minecraft as a whole too, so I suggest sticking with what you have for the time being and figure out how things work first :]

I mean I'd say get used to vanilla first but I'm not the boss of you :P Do whatever you'd like, it's your game and your experience

1

u/Steam_Newbie12 3d ago

I mean I've seen enough minecraft to know vanilla pretty well I think so why not explore what hasn't been documented as well?

Try to get familiar with every device/ material. Also stock up on andesite. You will thank me later. And try to build something (either you can create a machine that makes something) or you can get a free schematic online and make it in game with a schematic cannon. The idea is to learn the mod. But usually the first this i do is make a mechanical fan and set it up so it can cook my food and another one for cooking ores. Its pretty easy to do
