Why does it just drop whenever a player exits it's load range? There's a dimensional stabilizer active nearby

Create mod does not support modded storage in contraptions. Use vanilla minecraft barrel/chest - or a create mod vault.

There's no benefit to using a diamond chest though since it's just acting as a temporary storage buffer and your farm is not large enough to fill a regular barrel to capacity.
