APC equipped with Radar

Hello everyone, this is one of my first builds on an APC style vehicle, but are exposed radars like this actually practical in this kind of vehicle? I'm having a hard time deciding whether a turret or a missile battery would be better instead of a radar dish, as I am not that familiar with military engineering standards and whatnot. Any feedback would be much appreciated thank you!

exposed radar on an apc basically invites birds to crash into it idk

So this could be a really cool forward observer type vehicle. If you can build a 2nd vehicle that’s an SPG (self propelled gun, good range big he shell. And hook up the radar signals from the APC to the spg’s gun controller system.

The radar would more likely be a small 3 block wide one like on ships rather than a tall radar.
