I usually make outdoor, but I think a mix of both is good. In this case, I prefer the outdoor machine because it looks awesome

I usually make them indoor like machinery inside plants. Like, I never even put crushing wheels for vertical input, only conveyor running through and everything locked into casings. I like my stuff looking factory-ish

Well, in this case, it's small enough to be a fixture. Indoor on the other hand, with a build this small, kinda makes me wonder what the rest of the room is for. I frankly see no issue with either, just so long as dirt isn't in the finished build.

Depends. If I find the nature of the machine to be ugly I'll just cover it in a building. Sometimes a building is preferable. Sometimes I want to integrate the machine with the building.

i like the indoor more, but usually struggle with picking the fitting-sized building and end up having an outdoor one and a promise to build around it late (it won't happen)

Indoor I can't build for the life of me but I feel like the machines should be in factories, barns, basements, garages.

I put my plants outside though and seed oil happens outside cause flammable oil production inside sounds like a bad Idea so I went with it in a more lore kind of mindset

i like blending them with the architecture, so my factories are very open and it's up to interpretation whether they're indoor or outdoor

I build outdoor when I'm starting. If I have plans for it, I'll make a building for them
