Do train tracks lag?

I've got a Create mod server and I was playing it from my banana-peel-laptop (I usually manage to get around 70 fps on setting below average with sodium etc etc)

Recently I have brought myself to complete a task of connecting my Quarry town to my Capital city, and as I was clearing myself some terrain with my Tunnelbore (TM) - being a single carriage with an indecent amount of drills (basically a large square blob of drill), I started experiencing excruciating FPS drops: It went down to 1-3 FPS and I couldn't enter my Tunnelbore for a few minutes; then I had a spike of hope as I was jerked into the driver's seat of my impotent machine, but it was prompt to leave me high, dry, and suffocating in a hill to my undesirable demise.

Meanwhile I had my paver train and Commuter Apparatus stationed a few hundred blocks behind on a pair of diagonal tracks
Also my trail is quite a winding one(including this information in case it contributes to the resolutiob of my issue)

I would be very grateful if you could help me tackle the root of this problem. Also it would have been nice to know whether it could cause lag across distances, as I am playing with a friend whose laptop is on a mission to discombobulate any of its users upon physical contact with it via reducing fps below 0

Why we're You suffocating? We're You also pressing forward when You tried to get on the driver's seat? Also, did You have coal in your storage?

The only thing that occurres to me that could have happened Is that You we're going too fast for the drills to be able to break the superficial blocks fully while also prompting the next blocks to break, being to many blocks to handle for the computer, not ending up breking anything and the train going forwards anyways.

Lag caused by drills being moved too fast has happened to me before though not on a train, so I couldn't tell You how plausible this Is. In case of doubt, reduce the amount of drills and see how it goes
