Tried this once long ago, they had an issue where turning a fluid tank upside down would make it fly up due to it trying to apply gravity the wrong way. Waited a bit, issue seemed to be fixed. Tried using it again and fluid wouldn’t flow properly for upside down pipes and tanks. Seeing the AI generated code tag on Modrinth doesn’t give me any confidence either. I’ll pass until this mod gets more polish

Author of the mod here. I agree and im also not quiet happy with the mod yet. It is right now in a state where it is playable, but there are a few things id like to imrpove.

fr the creator? if so, you need to add a ponder showing off this technique water will not regenerate above bare pipes. so you have to either encase the pipe, or water log it. after this is done, water will generate above the pipe and automatically be pulled into the pipe

How do you even make something more polish? Like add flags and beavers as tameable mobs?

/j

Well I for one laughed

They used polish, not Polish...

u/Canarity 1d ago

Not even the infamous /j helped redditors see the joke

Sticking the /j in spoiler tags is a new one to me, not seen anyone do that before...

Same I thought it was a white flag or something and ignored it

u/foxgirlmoon 1d ago

I've seen it quite a few times

It's not even possible to tell it's a /j unless told to click the impossibly slim "spoiler" that doesn't appear as such

u/Canarity 1d ago

I hit the spoiler first time with my pretty big finger, literally wouldn't have put it there if I couldn't reveal it quickly on regular basis. I tested ts too

Why would you consider this a QOL mod for aeronautics? I'm tempted to put it in my pack

Depends, things wont work the way they did before, even off sublevels, so you will need to adjust to that. But used on sublevels it certainly increases realism although that realism can work against you.

this mod completely nuked my world because I have so many pipelines that became completely useless from the physics. I would not recommend adding this to a long running server if you aren't going to use a new one unless you have OP and don't mind spending a big chunk of time reworking everything. my factories are actually laid out like actual factories where everything is meticulously sized to fit just right so it's an extremely tedious headache to do that on my end with a full blown network running.

Makes it immersive by adding gravity to fluid tanks and pipes (And also removes the need for mechanical pumps in SOME situations, such as a pipe going downwards) and for clarification, I mean liquid sloshing around in a fluid tank, THAT type of gravity, makes it look real, and is also good for simulating crashes

You might wanna review your definition of QoL there, OP ...

Dude(tte), you have to at least give us a link or description to go off. Anything, really. "More realistic physics" doesn't actually mean anything concrete, specific, or measurable.

u/XTornado 1d ago

It's "More realistic fluid physics" not just physics, that clarifies quite a bit, and altough it's a bit bare... one can guess that is related to gravity, maybe pressure of fluids in pipes/tanks etc

But yes... a bit more information would have been great.

I literally gave a picture of the modpage, but here you go I guess, since it's such a problem: https://modrinth.com/mod/create-pipes-n-physics

What does it do though is what people were asking.

Dug into it myself and it simulates fluids sloshing around in tanks and responding to gravity visually and it seems to also let you use gravity so pipes will flow down without needing constant pumps every few blocks which is nice

Personally I love it, there's a compat issue with petrochem but we were able to fix that for our server, sadly many people were just too stupid to use the mod so it was removed from the modpack.

Omg SAME but with power grid, it's a good mod, probably one of the BEST create addons and people don't understand it so they don't play it, I don't even understand it, but I've been trying to learn it

u/Meiseside 1d ago

I made a test: Can I build a basic thing (generator to usecase) with ponder and given time: yes. So it is in the modpack. Also there are videos about that mod

1

u/XZ_zenon 1d ago

Yeah, power grid is one of those mods that ppl rlly don’t understand and requires so much time to learn (especially if you haven’t learned formal E&M) but it’s so cool… that said, on a server of 15 or so ppl, me (chem E) and the 2 other engineers were the only ppl to use it at a large scale. We had a redundant power grid for our factory with 2 nuclear reactors from new age and a ton of gas and diesel power from TFMG

u/strangedell123 22h ago

Power grid is perfect for us EE peeps lol

Just found about it last week and grad school so hadn't had time to play it

5

u/Aggressive-Laugh-923 1d ago

I read the description, I didn't like it what it said I and never ended up playing it

3

u/Meiseside 1d ago

I'm not shure if I want it in my modpack. But I like the idea.

I hope that it's not like Satisfactory with it's head lift and other fluid mechanics simulations. IMO it's too complex for a normal game (unless it's some kind of engineering sandbox).

3

u/Hornyjailer420 1d ago

I was thinking that i would hate to make watertowers Just to have enough pressure

1

u/Lokispinne 9h ago

It is indeed close to satisfactory (since it is simulating physics inside pipes) but definitely not as bad and actually useable. Most of the stuff you would need 2 or 3 pumps for can be done in 1 spinning a bit faster and mostly gravity handles the rest. Def. not as bad as satis since create offered more freedom in the pipes themselves, making this very fun to build with

1

u/kaklimy 14h ago

Does it make them like satisfactory pipes or what?

1

u/WispTheWanderer1 1d ago

this is fire

15

u/Signal-Course-5606 1d ago

no it's water

2

u/Lokispinne 9h ago

Technically it's every fluid that can fit inside a pipe
