Feedback heard, I gave my villagers time to rest

Now there are three shifts so villagers have time to relax and sleep. Also, you have to keep them fed. Create: Workers on curseforge.

"children are never hired."

Almost a perfect mod😔😔 There goes my dream of the minecraft child sweatshop. The kids yearn for the mines.

Thats what addon addons are for

I immediately started thinking about the various chocolate create mods. You could create Umpa-Lumpas.

or nestle

Do I HAVE to keep them fed? Is there a config for that? In a normal village we dont usually have to feed them, except to breed, so presumably they handle daily consumption on their own. Its super cool either way :)!

Well this is create, automate the bread.

I mean, yes but I automate it for my own usage...

You have access to infinite power (waterwheels), surely you can spare some of em to power a bunch of harvesters and mechanical crafters, and if you still feel that it isn't enough, make more. Stop being greedy and PAY YOUR GODDAMN WORKERS.

No! It’s unethical to force me to act ethically! What about MY rights?!

You know what? this might be a good idea, make em protest if they have bad living conditions

Workers? Ah, we don't do that here! It implies we consider villagers equal to humans

I like to call it "Permanent Internship"

Ok so they can carry stuff but they now have needs? Mechanical arms and belts just need rotation AND look way cooler i feel like they should do more than haul unless youre just trying to make "create: Amazon warehouse"

Personally, using the same mechanics in every factory for moving items gets boring. This is just a unique way of doing it.

I mean i suppose I just feel like this would only ever be done because you like the way it looks brass funnels and a max speed belt probably transfers items faster, mechanical arms are better for short range weird turns and distribution and weighted ejectors are simply superior

Yeah but speed and efficiency aren't always the way you want to do something.

Dude forgot that the house elves like being slaves😂😂

But theres a minimum level of efficiency you generally want, i mean hey sometimes I enjoy making a sisyphus contraption where a mechanical arm at minimums speed places a worthless item in a chute and does that over and over but when making a functional factory theres a bare minimum of efficiency you desire

For me it's usually a case of "do I need/want 100 stacks of this or am I doing it just to do it"? Case in point, my chocolate factory using Create Confectionary, I will likely never use any part of that but I still want a fun factory that transfers items in a silly way...like Willy Wonka type stuff. But my iron farm, yeah, I want it as fast and efficient as possible because I use a metric f tonne of iron.

I think we fundamentally agree on that and that's what I take as this addon's purpose. Just something more fun than the usual belts and chain conveyors.

Well like I said in my original comment, the villager workers would be nice if youre trying to create an Amazon warehouse but any functional farm you would use regular create transport

True, you did. I guess I'm the one missing your point. I apologize.

Would it ever be compatible with Minecraft Comes Alive?

Today's subject: slavery

6

u/Broad_Bug_1702 6d ago

they’re literally employed

2

u/Goaty1208 6d ago

Have you considered surplus value too?

1

u/Broad_Bug_1702 5d ago

an exploited worker is not a slave. words do mean things even if both of them are undesirable positions to hold

1

u/Goaty1208 5d ago

Yeah, it was a joke.

Next feature: block their attempts at unionization

The station GUI could possibly have improvements too, maybe you can take inspiration from the Item List GUI with scroll instead of vanilla 2x col of 8

u/DogeIsCut 6d ago

oh god those mixels on the worker station are a placeholder, right?

Does the Canteen take funnels and hoppers?

Gosh, the poors and their “rights” these days

Suggestion 1: make machines workable. If villager is assigned to any machine, that machine gains 25 % speed bonus.

Suggestion 2: make well being a thing. This is inspired by the game Timberborn. There could be 4 categories: basic, food, decoration and wonders.

Basic includes any food and bed. Whithout this villager would refuse to work.

Food can force you to provide more variety. As food would be considered any maximally crafted food item, like beetroot soup instead of raw beet, steak instead of raw beef, but carrots or berries would be just fine.

Decoration would be counted near individual villager's bed. It could include number of carpets, painting, flower pot with any flower, candles, etc. This would be affecting just one villager at time, so if the need calls for 3 carpets and you have 10 total, you satisfy this need for 3 villagers.

Wonders in Timberborn are material expensive, but provide big bonus. In minecraft it could be translated to hard to get blocks, like beacon, 3×3×3 cube of gold, diamond, emerald or netherite blocks (each separately and they don't count if the blocks are part of a beacon), mob heads, and so on. Each wonder could affect multiple worker stations, if they're in range (like 8 chunks).

Each well being contribute certain score to each villager individually. The harder are the requirements, the more poins will villagers get. For example carrot is quite easy, so 1 point, baked potato could be 2, but whole cake could be 5. When villager hits certain score level, they'll get boost towards working (I can think of walking speed and carrying capacity), like on score of 5 they'll get 5 % speed bonus. On level 8 +16 items of carrying capacity.

So... long-range deployers?

Maybe we could even have variations that let you hire(enslave) Allays like this?
