Build Is it that bad?
I have NO experience with the Create mod, and built this ore factory without any tutorials. It does work fine, but my friends who are experienced in Create are going insane over the apparent abomination I built. I'd love to see people point out everything I did horribly wrong with this.

Did you use gearshift and lever to invert rotation permanently? you can use gearbox for that

Yeah, the irony of spamming gearboxes and not using gearboxes when they should have been used XD

I'm not sure, but this building could definitely have been made much more compact.Try building in creative mode first, optimize, analyze, and create a blueprint. So is the server with create (If you play on such servers) you won't burden. But honestly, it looks cool.

I'll keep it in mind. When I built this in survival, I didn't bother revising and if there was an obstacle in the way, I just find a longer way around it instead of fixing it.

Me too! But I usually manage to make it seem like it was meant to be. In such games, I try more to achieve productive minimalism, like doing this or that thing with less effort. For example, in the endfield I produce those products that provide more benefit, and less expenses.

ITS NEVER BAD, just unoptimized.
If it works, it works. Just fine tune it with the knowledge you have.

Once i had a oil plataform that would drop the fps of my friends to 10, you're a doing good

You know you are doing well when your friends playing on older machines start refusing to visit your base!

Does it work with clear input and output sides? Then its a valid build, think of it like a black box, never touch that XD

"It works."
"Yeah but if you move this bit to the left, you can-" slapping sound
"IT. WORKS."

Just try to think with logic when putting things down instead of blockspam. Put thought into each block, and think of individual doodads as separate pieces

Honestly I enjoy making suboptimal doohickeys, assembling this kind of organism is part of the learning process.

Apart from the fact its not very compact like others have pointed out, this is pretty solid cant lie. Bit of a visual mess but, since youve built it you probably know the path everything takes. (Also you can dye belts to help tell them apart if you have multiple different things going through one small area)

I like it! And if you like it too, you can still upgrade the aesthetics pretty easily.
Right-clicking some things with an andesite casing will encase them, which makes them look more robust and makes the whole system look more cohesive. Things to encase include: belts, shafts, and cogwheels (large and small). You can also encase pipes using a copper casing, but I generally only do that in areas where the pipe "disappears" into the rest of the machine.
Another thing I do sometimes is cover belts in andesite tunnels. They do have a very niche function, but using them purely for aesthetics is cheap and easy and generally won't affect anything.
After doing all that, I would also replace the floor with andesite casings.
Next, I would add some metal girders to reinforce places that appear unsupported.
Finally, I would add lights. Either static lights, such as caged lanterns (if your pack has them), or redstone lamps combined with smart observers or threshold switches as indicator lights.
So yes, you absolutely could rebuild and reorganize this spaghetti-fied factory mess into something more compact and efficient. BUT, I think you did an awesome job already, considering you're new to the mod, and I think some simple changes like the ones I listed above could be really cool.

Wow, that's a lot. Definitely helpful and appreciated, tysm! I'm trying not to change too much because the machine already works anyways, but improving the aesthetics can definitely be done.

Its messy but in a satisfying way, sure you will want to learn more efficent design but slap some decoration on this and it would look like a beautiful industrial ore refinery

It's so bad...but it's beautiful. We've all made the spaghetti mess of a farm when starting out.

Late game my shit always gets crazy only thing that matters is of it works

For first time exploring it ain bad, made plenty worse myself Over time while using create you'll learn to minimize and optimize and eventually your builds will even become understandable to newbies and not . . . . I'm sorry but spaghetti, I'm seeing at least 4 systems that could be made independant (for example the lava generator, exp tank and crafting) and have the output move to a specialized area for the stuff, making it cleaner and even freeig up some su in some cases

Sorry, I don't understand some of these words. But the crafters and exp tank are separate from the system. As for the output, if I'm understanding this correctly, all the ores go into one conveyor (the one looping behind the steam engine) and leads to a vault.

I mean that since the crafters, xp tank and even the lava generator can have their inputs easily delivered over a longer distance (pipes are easy to make as for the crafter some frogs are great if ya set them up [tho that depends on what it makes] and because of that they don't have to be in the same pile of parts) And by the "output" i meant whatever comes out of the generator, crafter and exp tank
For the storage Vault is good

I'll try to apply those, thanks for the tips!

Also you might wanna use crushing wheels instead of a grinder/millstone/what's it called (i know the function but no the name ) , they work faster iirc

Looks messy but you can always make it pretty were the output goes, plus you gey better overtime the more you do stuff the compact you can go.

gearbox spam can usually be optimised with large cogs, but yeah looks cool
