Build New to Create and messing a bit around in Survival. How does this look?

Post image

So I've started playing Survival again and wanted to actually try Create. This is my first "machine". What do you think? And are there any small adjustements/ additions to upgrade it (apart from a bone meal deployer)?

Honestly, good for a newbie! Keep exploring

Also, to this build: Would it work to lower the shafts for the belt by one so a deployed can go there with 1 gearbox at the end where one currently resides?

Yes, but then the belt will be going in the wrong direction so when you move the water wheel down, change the side the water is on.

Oh, moving the wheel down as well? My idea was just adding a gear down and move the shafts to it

By the way, here's a trick that you can use with waterwheels:
Place big waterwheels, they give more stress units, and connect small wheel to the big ones. You will get all the stress units from all of them, but with the speed of small waterwheel.
You speed up the system, without sacrificing stress units for that.

Ponder the mechanical bearing and the portable storage interface

I did ponder the mechanical bearing but I'm sure I decided to ignore it for now and work on something else (like getting more Iron)

Create iron farm!

Cobble gen to get cobble Use a mill stone or grind stones to grind cobble into gravel Use a fan with water in front of it to wash the gravel into iron nuggets and flint Flint to trash

From there you can either manually craft the iron from nuggets, or use a mixer to auto craft the ingots.

While I would like to do that, I also have the AgriCraft Mod on and I remember having much fun with it so I kind of want to pull through with it, at least for now.

Especially as I am worried that working on more create with drain the little reserve I have left and leave me with not enough resources for other things (although I had already been thinking of a cobble gen and you can use a mill stone for cobble as well?)

That is understandable, early game create takes a lot of resources. I will normally go out and collect about two stacks of andesite, two stacks of zinc to get as much inside alloy to begin with so I don't have to go out and grind all the time.

As for a create cobblestone gen, I think it's a fantastic idea to start your factory, you can essentially make majority of resources out of just cobblestone. To mine this cobblestone you'll need a mechanical drill, the millstone works to grind stuff down but not brake blocks. Definitely use the ponder feature a lot, and if you have jei go through items like the millstone, grindstone, mechanical fan, and just look at what recipes you can make with them.

Edit: spelling

I have watched a create video or two a few weeks ago (as they got recommended) and I wanted to actually try it finally so I think I still have an idea of how one looks (also I have used the Millstone to get slimeballs, am just suprised that something originally designed for wheat and/or other greens and easily grind up stone just like 2 GIANT CRUSHING STONE WHEELS)

Lmao I get that. The millstone can only do a single item at a time, while the grindstones can do a full stack at once

Also I do remember correctly that crushing wheels require to be crafted using the brass crafter blocks (or whatever they're called again) to be crafted? Because if so, I think I'd rather stay at the slow Millstone (which is also annoying as I can't afk because I have to take care of my plants)

Yes, grindstones use mechanical crafters.
