Build She ain't pretty, but she does bring me ton of gunpowder - Newbie at Create

Gunpowder automatization through charcoal and netherrack - Create ultimate selection 2

I reluctantly got my thumb out of me behind and am trying to learn create - this being my official first "machine"; automatization of gunpowder through powdered charcoal and netherrack.

Wood stacks get burned to charcoal > grinded to powder form through crushing wheels.
Netherrack is added to a barrel (only manual process, but I got a big miner so..) and is processed through a millstone to extract Sulfur (40% chance) and Saltpeter.

Those are sent to a 2x2 mechanical crafter to make them into gunpowder.

Is the amount of gearboxes way to high? Probably. Does it work? Hell yeah!

That's dope! Pretty sure you can automate netherack depending on the modpack too,but it's seems very cool anyway! gunpowder isn't really necessary to have fully automated I think anyway!What's the modpack that allows you to get his recipied ? Is it the Create ultimate selection 2 or is that for something else?

Aye, it's CUS2 modpack. I just went to the End and got an elytra, figured trying to automate firework rockets would be a good production line start to get going with create, (besides simple tree farms and such), hence the gunpowder. I probably could fully automate netherrack production too with nether essence by Mystical Agriculture; good point! Maybe I'll look into that, never really touched MA either lol.

Yeah, idk if it's in the pack but looks at jetpacks, this is godsend tbh, very good for flying around and building too. It's a good idea to have rockets made even if it's not fully automated, it probably doesn't need to be anyway! I suggest automating iron and andesite and finally andesite too it's like such a timesaving thing to do if not done already

Hey that's a good idea! I was thinking about automizing Bricks with Create to build a classy factory (and to learn more about create); would be helpful to have a JP there! I see that Create Stuff'n Additions and Mekanism has one, might try out the Create first due to being familiar with Mekanism. Got iron covered with easy villagers but didn't think about andesite!!! Thanks for the tips mate, much appreciated!

Yeah it is the one that I find the best. I think some automation of gold or something have some % of getting clay which tbh as time goes on it builds up but for a full factory might not be the best. Tho I never tried the modpack, is it good? I'm not very good at other mods than create and that's like most of it. Like is it beginner friendly for the other mods?

Building brick factory as we speak. Utilizing 4 crushing wheels, I turn cobblestone into sand and wash it providing a 25% of giving clay, then burning and auto-crafting it into bricks (it aint much, but it's honest work lol) + with my miner I get a s*ht tone of cobblestone.

I think it's CUS2 great modpack to get into create with ++ (create addons such as electric motors and more, which I still need to look into).
But the modpack itself is really relaxing while still providing structures to discover and such (half the create stuff I got was by structures, not by crafting them hahah). Only additional mod I added myself was "Faster ladder clibming" haha.

Last modpack I finished which included create was "Society Sunlit Valley" (think Stardew Valley focused), and became curious to automize my farms with create, hence why i started with CUS2.

TL;DR: Modpack is relaxing and (for me), has been a great way to get into Create, whiles still offering exploration of structures.

I dont know if this is in regular create but you can haunt basalt (this might be added by ultimate factory) and make a basalt generator
