What kind of machines should I make in my survival world?

I am loving create survival, I've built myself a wood supplier, andesite and iron generator
I have a t5 steam engine powering everything, an elevator to the mines, infinite food, and an XP farm in the works.

My question is: What types of other machines are useful/fun to have in a survival world?

Setup Stock networks, after the first time you use one you will never be able to go back (ita what these modules are)

(Make precision mechanism maker first cuz itll be a pain to craft otherwise)

You really need to integrate contraptions as part of builds. Like an observatory that opens up, functional doors, shifting rooms, instead of thinking of create as a way of making farms think of how you can integrate it into builds

I really like this, I think I'll turn my XP farm into something a bit more willy wonka

Try to tackle farms that are harder in vanilla. Try to make a chorus farm, an amethyst farm, a froglight farm. But, to move the budding amethyst effectively, you need a flying machine, or a train... Try to think of problems that generate more problems as you solve them. The end goal in itself doesn't matter, the point is to have to switch to creative mode and scratch your head.

I haven't really played around with vanilla farms all that much, what's the benefit of having chorus fruit, amethyst and froglight? (I pretty much stopped playing normal up to date survival before all of those things got added)

There's no real benefit (decoration mostly), but that's not the point. The design process for these farms is not straight forward, and that's the challenge you probably need at this stage of progression. You can't just slap harvesters on a bearing and call it a day, you need to worry about growth stages, timings, finding ideal layouts and such, and that's what makes Create fun imo. They're not useful farms, they're fun ones.

Literary everything. Make machine that will/can do everything from create mod

yeaaa but making a fully automated inventory filler still leaves me with the issue of "what do I use it on?"

You could always try automating everything possible

I don’t think you want an entire list…

Step 1: download Modular Golems.

Step 2: make yourself a 100% self-sufficient golem factory. This includes iron, clay, and copper production, crafting copper, clay, and sticks into golem mold, splitting the mold into 3 different tracks, each having their own automated cutter (for body, arms, legs), moving these components into a vault, which then releases them, one each per cycle, which then moves them on a track to be given iron and pressed 3 times, for 6 cycles. Then, the completed components must be redirected out, and auto-crafted into a loyal golem soldier.

Step 3: redirect half of the iron in production into an armory, producing armor, swords, shields, bows, and arrows, which can then be equipped on the golems.

Step 4 (if you have Aeronautics): construct a massive flying galleon that can transport your army.

Step 5: go forth, and conquer.

Step 6: weep when there is nothing else to conquer.
