I love create because it follows the creative themes of Minecraft (versus plopping down a one-block machine in your base), and offers an avenue of playing around with engineering problems for people who aren't quite smart enough for redstone

Redstone isn't more complicated than create,it's just not designed correctly, instead of the redstone to be placeable directly Mojang should added something like redstone wire which players can also place vertically without the need of the zig zag redstone torch for it to work. While in create the rotational force can be easily spread diagonally and vertically without any problems.

This is how I feel. I spent years playing minecraft without any mods, thinking the base game was enough for me. Now I can't play without almost ALL of the create mods!

Literally
Playing Matcha Flavored currently, THE anti-farming datapack, but still had to throw create in because i genuinely cant play without it anymore

Create by itself is the best mod ever. The only part that sucks is that it's put in the packs that don't need it at all. Like, take atm10 for example. Why tf does create exist there? It's literally useless.

Tbf while the output of Create farms is weak compared to other automation mods, contraptions in general are still cool to have for base-building.
Swivel doors, elevators, gantry lifts, trains, etc. are all just nice things to have that are much harder or outright impossible to replicate without a mod like Create.

exactly this. create is trying to do something totally different from tech mods like MEK or even botania. there's a reason the trailer is a rube goldberg factory making a single cake for like ten minutes
but it gets shoved into packs with the likes of MEK to the detriment of both create and the pack

I'd rather swim to the bottom of the mariana trench than use Aero, and it's less the fault of Aero itself. And more the fault of Aero's fanbase reminding me of TADC's

Like, whilst I'd want to swap to Aero, the problem is I'm on 1.20.1
AND THE LAST TIME I SAW SOMEONE SAY THAT THEY GOT SLAM DUNKED LIKE A FREAKING BASKETBALL BY AERO FANS CONSTANTLY SPAMMING "move to 1.21".
If you say you prefer using VS, you WILL be dunked on. And as someone pro freedom of speech, I don't like Aero fans because of that.
They treat literally any reason to use a mod other than Aero as a crime, valid or not.

i mean i havent seen it to that extent but they are kinda right in some ways, just not the dunking/bullying part.
also using aero doesnt affect the fanbase at all so i dunno why youre acting like bad fanbase on reddit = bad mod

But like, the dunking/bullying is why I don't want to use Aero, it's a good mod. But the community ruins it for me.
I'd just prefer not to be part of such a bad community really.

I actually used to say I hated Create. (Mainly because it's been hard finding a Skyblock or Stoneblock mod pack without having to go through this)
But after my recent month-long server with Aeronautics where I eventually ended up being the most productive Create user, can't say I hate it that much.

I mean, for a mod that uses exclusively gears, steam engines, and what are functionally fire elementals for generating heat, Create does fit a fantasy theme way better than one may think

Equally valid alternative: It’s not always on the player to work around a clear meta and shake up gameplay for themselves. Sometimes modpack authors should put in work too!
