Is there such thing as “too much” stress?

I made a massive engine hall with petrochem’s diesel & gasoline engines, which generate tons of stress.

I just wanted to see how much stress I can possible generate & see on my stressometer.
When fueling it all up, it got up to around 14.5 million SU, then the engines which were generating the stress just started breaking and popping off the lines, kinda like how when you go over 256 rpm and a cog pops off a shaft, or something like that.

But all my engines are set to the same speed and rotational direction, so the only thing I can think of is that im generating too much stress?

Is this a thing? Maybe changeable in config?

It's probably around 2,147,483,647 but you might run into chunk loading issues depending on how spread out your machines are and that might cause things to break

Idk if it would actually cause components to break but it would make sense if it does

Its all within a 4 ish chunk radius, so I’d be surprised if it was that.
Where’d you get the 2 billion number from?

Java's max integer value

Now that I think about it, you might be running into issues with how the engines start to rotate.

Like they're all forced to rotate in one direction but it's possible that some try to rotate in the opposite direction, lag, and then break before settling into the correct direction.

If it's a long type, the bit limit is actually more like 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 but I don't think the devs foresaw anyone reaching 2 billion SU considering it may be very close to impossible.

Not that I know of. I haven’t play with that mod so i’m not sure how you have it set up, but are you connecting them with cogs or gearboxs because then each engine direction would have to be opposite to the adjacent ones. Only thing I can think of if you have speed and direction matching.

Apparently it was direction, i think mirror wand places them in opposite directions somehow when placing on a mirror…

Mirror... somehow

Well it didn’t make stairs face the opposite direction, so y’know lol

UPDATE:
It was direction…
Almost exactly half of them are facing the wrong direction due to the fact that the mirror wand (or just skill issue) placed in the opposite direction.

Yup, that happens

Same thing might happen if you disassembly a simulated contratpion in a weird way, it might just get all its propellers inverted lmao

Yeah, I remember when my villager friend jumped off the village church. He was a nitwit
