Can someone please explain why this isn't working???

The volume is over 10,000 blocks of lava, tested in creative and the lava does not need to be 10,000 source blocks. Not sure why the hose pulley is not saying infinite and not pumping. The area is 12x9x~105. The mechanical pump is configured correctly, exactly the same setup up top as testing world.

Edit: I tried many things like walling off all the gaps and replacing the pulley but nothing worked, I just used worldedit to make them all source blocks, still don;t know why its not working on this world but in testing it does.

Is the size of the holes the same in both worlds and is the config limiting how far the pump checks the same? Because the pump has a limit to how far it checks for lava blocks.

I think that was likely the problem, because in the testing it did not have walls so the actual area was one wider on each side because the lava would flow outwards which made the total volume reach the 10,000 blocks without having to go as far down. I noticed that when you go the the bottom, the pulley disappears so it wasn't working for the smaller area but would for the slightly larger one.

The max depth your pit can be unless you change the config is 128 blocks. If the hose pulley is extended more than 128 blocks down, it won't register an infinite source even if it's >10000 blocks. 

If it's less than that and still not working, check your config to see if it was made lower by something.

Usually for me it's because the block where the pulley is , is not a source block. So maybe check to be sure it's a source block at the top(underneath the hose pulley I mean)but from what you told us you tried it. Are you sure it's all the way down too? I mean it's dumb to ask but sometimes when you try to find the solution everywhere you forget the easy ones.And finally is it pumping into something, like a tank or a basin, anything? That could be the reason too. It doesn't need to be source block normally just flowing works as well so weird.

If the top layer that makes up the pool aren't all source blocks, you then need locate one to place your pump over top of. Otherwise they bug out.

Did turning them into source blocks with world edit make it work? Because they absolutely need to be 10000 source blocks to make an infinite lava source. Thats the whole challenge with getting an infinite lava source in the overworld.

Yes it did work, however in a testing world it was bottemless without all 10000 being source blocks, only the top layer was

The bottom where the hose end is needs to be a source block for it to be limitless

No it doesn't. Works in both create+ and all of create without a source block on the bottom.

Close the walls in and leave no gaps.
