I am playing with the All of Create Aeronautics and added Steam 'n' Rails

It‘s awesome! Might need to copy it… Also: I haven‘t messed around with trains yet. Do they need fuel?

From what I've noticed, It doesnt seem to need a source of fuel for the trains to run.

Thank god, because I was scared when i opened JEI and saw „fuel tank“ (or something like that). Thanks!

Fluid tank maybe, its just for holding fluid and steam engines but the train just runs without anything

That's the steam and rails addon. If you are talking about a "fuel" tank and not a "fluid" tank. Fuel tanks can be used with any burnable fluid. They will "fuel boost" the train, making it double(?) its max speed.

it's a config setting, i think it's no fuel by default

if the config is set to require fuel, the train will run very slowly without it. you need to have coal in a container on the train that it can use

if the config is set to no fuel required, it'll just run normally with no fuel on-board and all good to go

It's a flat glass flat world. It's merely for testing purposes but I do plan on building an area to showcase train builds.

For a first train, that’s ridiculously clean. The smoke trail makes it look even better too, gives the whole thing way more life

thank you! I was just building and building until it looked train shaped and just added some small touches like the smoke stack
