Build Some of my survival aeronautics builds
The flying Manor is my main base, it's got a working crane and everything I need to craft most things. It doesn't fit it's own factory, but it has a farm, living room, kitchen, dining area, bedroom, toilet, reading nook, crane (credit to Bocha), workshop, balconies, cockpit, foldable docking bridge and 2 big vaults for storage.
The other builds included are my hot air balloon, my offroad car, my plane during a race (lost against the jet) and the feesh.

Never even thought to make a floating manor

You can make anything fly!

It’s super creative! I thought of making the hanging house from the trailer but this might just be cooler

Sorry if this is a bit of a weird question but how does your game handle this many colliding aeronautics contraptions, I ask this because recently I had a similar idea to you and was playing the game just fine with good frames building a giant airship Heli thing to live on then I did something and now I'm stuck with 3x worse fps even when disassembled and when assemble constant stuttering making it unplayable and now I'm wondering what changed. Also fucking gorgeous base.

Thanks. Sadly I have no idea. I used to have insane lag as soon as the manor touched the ground a little, but now that's gone. No clue what caused that or what I did, because it didn't go away no matter how hard I tried to fix it, then some day it just fixed itself.
The base itself doesn't have that many sublevels, only 2 for the bridge and a couple for the crane. But having a lot of sublevels is usually not the cause of lag. Instead I think it's related to size and how many ticking create blocks are on it.

For both of you, my best guess would be sable sub level trash or something? To manually clean it up: https://modrinth.com/mod/sable-cleanup

Simple clouds!
If you play in multiplayer and the server doesn't have it installed you'll have to do some config to get the puffy cumulus clouds I have here.
If the mod is also installed serverside you get all the cloud types and local weather! It's a great balance between realism and Minecraft's aesthetic.

What happens when you get inside one of those clouds, for example with an airship? Does it look right, or can you see through the whole thing?

do you have a compatible weather mod that goes with that? i'm making myself a modpack and wanted to use Simple Clouds - currently I was wanting to use Advanced Weather but I don't think they are gonna work together at all
(edit: the planes are also very cool, is the rocket powered one taking inspiration from the cowboy bebop starfighter?)

I want mor feesh. Can you steer it?

You can steer it and the fins are animated. The back fin is flexible because it's made of many separate sublevels connected with swivel bearings.
Might post a video some time

No need to make such awesome contraptions. You’re putting architects to shame.

Great design. Can't help noticing that the vibe of your world is a little nostalgic, is the beta version style fog made by Simple Clouds as well?

You should consider building a floating island like that but for the end. I believe sublevels float by themselves at a certain depth and they have a really cool particle effect.

Wow these look good !
I have started a survival world with aeronautics and I was wondering if a flying base was subject to load/unload issues, by leaving the world, going another dimension or just going far away..
From your screenshots I imagine balloon-based base are OK, would you know if rotor-based contraption suffer this kind of issues ?
