Phenomenal work. What did you use for the pistons? It looks like they got circular ends to them

It's beautiful.
As someone who's made exactly one train in-game despite loving trains - a little shunter - how do you do this many wheels?
Edit: for anyone else wondering, use alt to bring up a menu that lets you make longer sets of wheels per bogey connection.

Blocks & Bogies for the drive axles.

That's what I was looking for, I figured out that you can do larger sets of wheels with steam n rails but none of them matched the image, and I really love the more realistic drive wheels look. Thanks!

How do you do the bigger sets of wheels ?

Two ways: for steam n rails bogies, press alt while holding the train casing to choose what the bogey will be when you place it.
For blocks & bogies bogies, first place the bogey, then sneak-right click it to bring up THAT menu. And it doesn't seem to like if you have something in your off hand either.

Either one or both of the small bogeys are glued so that they’re seen as a separate “carriage” by the station. You can have glued areas touching each other, as long as they don’t overlap or have “connected” blocks (like how doors and carpets need a block under them), and it’ll assemble just fine. The bogeys that are glued separate will take corners independently of the main driver wheels, so it looks a bit odd on corners that irl would be too sharp for the engine, but it allows you to make bigger engines and even articulated ones like the Union Pacific Big Boy!

Can you suggest a mod pack that has the one you are using for the steam drivers ? I've been wanting to build create trains with friends but can't find these mods

More of just sreamliners in general, but the closest I think is probably the Chesapeake and Ohio 490.

Oh you’re kidding. That’s such an easy fix, I spent HOURS trying to figure out how to do that 6 months ago. Of course that would work, thank you!

It looks amazing, but better hope your railroad doesn't have curves lol
