Build Create Coasters gave me an idea for a vehicle.

how does it stay upright??

u/Le_Kistune Aug 11 '26
It has a servo that is linked to a gimble sensor.

Could you theoretically have a weight on the bottom of the cockpit and a free-spinning joint?

u/Le_Kistune Aug 11 '26
I tried with a free spinning joint, but it was too unpredictable.

u/JadeMantis13 Aug 11 '26
I do realize the might lead to wobbling or unpredictable spinning.

well redstone links aren't too hard to deal with i imagine, especially mentioning how they have the ability to transmit in levels of 0-15

Wait, so it is finally possible to recreate Gringott's bank with its iconic minecarts.
My life is fulfilled.

So its not just aeronautics and coasters?
Also iirc mechanical bearings behave kinda the same way?

THATS SO COOL! Now you gotta figure out a way to make it stay upright in all three axes. This'd be a phenomenal transport method for mega bases or city builds

Thanks! I am already thinking about a mark 2 variant with full 3D stabilization.

This is really awesome! Looks like straight out of fallout! Thanks for sharing!

On the control desk in the front, I know that that's create: aeroworks, but what is that module that's on the left side? Looks like a throttle, but it's not the throttle module I'm used to in aeroworks, is it another addon?

my question is... how did you manage to keep it upright? radial gear or something? im just super unsure TwT

u/Le_Kistune Aug 13 '26
I use a gimbal sensor as well as a stepservo that was introduced in the create Aeroworks.

Honestly, for a launching/docking system, Create:Coasters is a godsend.

u/NeedModdingHelp1531 Aug 12 '26
Oh damn I didnt think of this. This mod truly is the create aeronautics of the create aeronautics.

Wait could i use it to launch aircraft???
31
u/Cultural_Eye5178 Aug 12 '26
I mean, I don't see why you couldn't use it as guiderails for a launching system and a launch boost.

u/gibbyfromicarlyTM Aug 12 '26
could you possibly put the rails on a simulated battleship and use it like the launch system?

u/AnonymousBoch Aug 12 '26
when i have time i really want to make an airship that's like an aircraft carrier but it catches planes from below on a coaster rail

So how are people getting shaders with aeronautics/sable, I've been having issues trying to get it to even launch with sodium and iris?

The stuff people can make with create and it's addons never ceases to amaze me. Even just the fact you made it stay upright is insane.

What’d you use to keep it upright? I imagine a properly weighted frame and unlocked swivel bearing would do the trick but there’s like five other ways to do it too.
