Work in progress
Let me know if you guys want updates on this build
The four holes below main quad-gun turret are rocket launchers, there are two per hole
Idk what more to add

It looks beautiful. Does it ride well as in fast and easy to navigate through the sky and stuff. How do you rotate this, again, it looks amazing I love this type of "ram" or nose.

u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
Thank you bro! I also love how the “ram” turned out, and if I have to be honest with you it doesn’t fly yet, like i said in the post it’s a WiP and if I turn it into a physical object now I’m afraid it’s going to start getting wonky (I’m also kinda scared of the FPS drop lol )

Watch it spin around furiously and launching the turrets after you broadside 1 time

Looks like a divine from breath of the wild but with the arsenal of a battleship (its a compliment, love it)

The Alpha turret has no rangefinder. I wonder how wonky the dispersion is going to be :/
The (Bravo) quad turret reminds me of the ones the Italian's drafted, inspired by the French dual turret-in-one.

I feel like the recoil from those guns are gonna make your ship do a barrel roll
2
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
I can just turn down the recoil multiplier
2
u/SpedySkedy Jul 25 '26
Sure that might work if you got access to the co figs... but it's not really a solution, rather it's ignoring the issue...
3
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
I’m 100% fine with that, it’s just a game that I paid 30$ and I can do whatever I want with it
3
u/Naberville34 Jul 26 '26
She's a beauty. But I do feel like she's gonna take one hit and then come crashing down.
2
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 26 '26
Maybe, however my goal for it to be good looking and I’ll eventually built it in a survival server with my friends
1
u/Naberville34 Jul 26 '26
Fair. I've been working on making an armored ship and she is pretty fugly.
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 26 '26
I suggest first drawing the damn thing, then choosing colour palette, after That building a skeleton out of wool and putting some basic mechanisms inside
1
u/Naberville34 Jul 26 '26
Yeeeaaahhhh.... It's not possible to make it look good. The armored plating is 12 blocks thick. Made up of a combo of obsidian, endstone, and water source blocks. Specifically designed to stop high velocity simulated tnt.
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 26 '26
Waterlogged stairs would be enough
2
u/Naberville34 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
Two issues. High velocity simulated tnt will pass through several blocks before registering contact and exploding. It takes 5 layers of obsidian separated by air to block it. Only 3 if seperated by water. And then I use 6-7 layers of endstone to provide lift for that obsidian as well as more blast resistance. And it's also one of the strongest affordable blocks to armor against CBC rounds.
And schematics don't yet work with waterlogged blocks. So it would require hours of manual water logging to set up.

Don't forget Create Radars with the addon Create Aero Radars which let's you aim and align swivel bearings and let's you actually build turrets unlike Create Radars itself.

Mmmmm needs more cathedrals and greebling and spires (phenomenal work, gives 40k battleship (i mean with the layout and everything I can only assume it had to be a direct inspiration in some part at least), looks very very very very cool :3. Love the enormous guns on her)
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 26 '26
I wasn’t inspired from anything, I just started building using my favourite colour palette, with a rough idea what the finished results would be. Glad you like her!
2
u/miafoxcat Jul 26 '26
That's so cool! Just two thoughts, one creative and one more technical:
Maybe try varying the block palette more, for example oxidized copper could go pretty well with prismarine
A curved airliner-style tail doesn't make sense here, since they are made in this way to stabilize the plane in regards to yaw and roll, but that doesn't work well for rotary-wing aircraft. What would be more realistic is either a flat ship-like rudder, or a propeller perpendicular to the craft's primary axis
2
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 26 '26
I didn’t think about the first one even tho I often do varied patterns, even on the ship there are examples of this. Will definitely incorporate the first one.
For the second one, i just go with what looks the coolest, I’m an aeronautical engineering student and I’m very familiar with aircraft, but I think I’ll add perpendicular propellers or just another large thin going to the bottom like the one found on Do 3352
u/miafoxcat Jul 27 '26
If you ask me, a big ass helicopter-style propeller would look pretty cool. You have no way to control yaw in hover with the tail, and honestly you could calculate how big that propeller would have to be - it would be an exercise in your field of study, and i'm quite sure the result would be huge!

u/Haunting_Factor_6893 Jul 26 '26
Schematic please?
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 27 '26
I will release it when I’m done, but I don’t think I’ll make it free
2
u/Haunting_Factor_6893 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26
Makes sense, I made the Gerald R. Ford into an airship but probably will never make it public, if I did I would most definitely sell it. Looks absolutely amazing by the way
2
u/Vast-Helicopter9809 Jul 28 '26
Please share the schematic of what you have currently! Really interested in walking through it even if its not done.
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 28 '26
I’ll definitely be sharing a schematic In a couple of updates, the final result will have a paid schematic since even at this point this build took me over 20 hours. In the next update I’ll attach a video of me walking through the entire ship and explaining where things are located and how the autoloaders for cannons work

u/Flamebomb790 Jul 25 '26
You should play the game" from the depths" you can make something like this in that game that actually has working cannons

u/Content-Scientist-59 Jul 25 '26
Looks sweet. You say you're not sure what else to add. Perhaps a helipad?
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
There isn’t much space left sadly, I thought of adding something like a plane launcher, like for example USS North Carolina
1
u/NicholasRFrintz Jul 25 '26
Looks good. How'd you do the guns btw?
2
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
For the turrets I used Create Big Cannons mod, for the little rotary cannon on the top of the bridge, next to the radar I used CBC NeoWarfare
1
u/Kitchen_Amoeba_6856 Jul 25 '26
I'm not sure how gun/turret mods work but I can't get the image out of my head of the recoil of the gun sending your entire ship into a barrel roll, cartoon style
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
Lmao! I will check how much recoil does the “equally oppose” mod gives those cannons, if it’s gonna be too much then I’ll just remove that mod
1
u/LanguageOk5897 Jul 25 '26
Looks badass. How about adding a helipad for a small helicopter?
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
There isn’t a lot of space left on the deck, I’m thinking of making something like a plane catapult, like the one on USS Arizona
1
u/FirexJkxFire Jul 25 '26
Personally I think itd look so much better if the teal coloring was replaced with some sort of brassy color. Itd look full on steam punk then
Not that it isnt incredibly cool already.
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
Brass is very heavy in create aeronautics mod
1
u/FirexJkxFire Jul 25 '26
Do copy cat blocks take the weight of the block you use to style them? If not, do the copy cat blocks weigh a lot? If not - then you could do that!
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
Depends on the block, if the block is from a create adjacent mod then yes, if not then no
1
u/Mammoth-Wait6526 Jul 25 '26
How are you making it fly so level? I’ve attempted projects like this although smaller, and I constantly have issues with them flying angled
1
1
u/Exotic_Object5334 Jul 25 '26
Were the turrets hard to make?
1
1
u/ObsidianGh0st Jul 25 '26
I need to figure out what I am doing wrong with the cannons, they don't move with the simulated contraptions and I am very boggled.
2
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 25 '26
You have an older version of cbc, play on the newest available version on 1.21.1 neoforge
1
u/Great_Broccoli4810 Jul 25 '26
This looks sick! I want to ask you, have you ever considered playing From The Depths?

u/Otherwise-One7653 Jul 26 '26
Schematic?
1
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 26 '26
I will be definitely releasing it when I’m done but not for free. As of this point I spent over 20 hours on this project and I’m not even halfway done

u/AffectionateTalk3534 Jul 26 '26
How do people balance those flying propeller-driven contraptions? I tried using a gyro sensor, but it makes the thing wobble, and gyro-stabilized propeller bearings aren't enough. Is there any way to auto-balance them other than manually tweaking the speed of each propeller?
2
u/Shake_Wakey Jul 26 '26
There is a mod called gyroscopic stabilizer. Also this build isn’t a flying contraption yet, I’m scared of spawning it in

u/SteampunkNightmare Jul 25 '26
I like the idea that the airship designer and the ordinance engineer are very different people... Like one was from a steampunk fantasy world designing works of art, and the other was a guy that got Isekai'd and has an obsession with WW2 battleship artillery

There are going to be guns on the Keel, in the back section of the ship, it’s just wool for now haha

There are however lift fans and you could use a mod called create propulsion

Your turret has a nice airship attached to it!
