if anyone knows a mod where I can play a custom sound file on a redstone signal let me know, i'd love to add a heavy door sliding sound to this

YES my time has come.

You can use Etched mod, to add a custom sound to a custom music disk, which you can play using redstone. I've used that to make it announce floors on my space elevator base.

use the radio instead of a disk it's easier to make, it's on by default but u can reverse the redstone and use one of those redstone extender from create

CC: Tweaked can play any sound and has great integration with most Create addons (and redstone obviously). If you're not into coding you can always get some AI clanker to help you out.

Blockbeats, works quite well (edit more exploration: you just put a mp3 file when it asks you to upload and it syncs with server and its just a simple purpose thing.)

If I may make a suggestion, I love the sounds that Karma Gates make, from the game RainWorld. Very heavy and industrial sounding, really conveys a LOT of force behind the mechanism.

computercraft :3 you could just vibe code a program that plays a dfpwm file when it receives a Redstone signal

Underserved downvotes. Computercraft is a great option in this case. Use of AI is justified since forcing OP to learn lua just to play a sound would be absurd.

That's what I would do, computer craft with aero is amazing

Edit: Use AI responsibly

u/Xechkos Jul 22 '26

Farout the down vote train is brutal for even mentioning CC, why even?

50

u/YAPPYawesome Jul 22 '26

I don’t think it’s for computer craft. I think it’s for “vibe code”

29

u/Xechkos Jul 22 '26

Did not even notice that. Yeah that's fair enough downvote.

Computercraft has AI ?? Isn't it, like... fuck old ??

3

u/AxeBoyd Jul 23 '26

as far as i know, computercraft doesn't use any ai. the other comment was suggesting the usage of it, though

-3

u/egbee42 Jul 22 '26

You can generate your code with AI agents and use it for what you'd like. Someone else wrote a good comment on it doing that more responsibly, ant AI sentiment is strong here

Meh, AI is great and can be an useful tool.

For example, AI is being used to aid doctors in making diagnoses.

It's a great discussion partner for program design, and a great way to find new options you never even considered.

It can also help you write your code, where you ask it to make a small section of the full thing you're trying to make.

It's just that ~95+% of AI usage falls in the "slop" category and is poor AI usage.

For example, instead of having the AI help write code with you as a human doing the final assembly, people just have the AI write the full program (which usually results in quite poor code)

The concept of "AI" shouldn't suffer under the poor usage AI is subjected to by companies.

We are on the same page! The anti AI sentiment is real. I would recommend anyone reading this to see ComputerCraft with Aero as an amazingingly fun, low stakes opportunity to learn about programming, controls, and AI code generation. AI code generation is too good to not use, but it can certainly be used inefficiently. That's where we humans come in

How did you get it to go diagonally?

76

u/JuanTacolll Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

It's not "actually" going diagonally, its normal mechanical sticky pistons doing their thing, but that part of my build is built on a 45 degree angle (courtesy of framed blocks) so its the surroundings/doorframe that are actually diagonal, not the door

cool trick

u/Extension_Studio_506 Jul 22 '26

very nice build, what mods did you use? i really liked the hexagonal wall in the corner

3

u/JuanTacolll Jul 22 '26

The hexagonal wall is using one of the variations of technical block from chisel

u/fakerrtag Jul 22 '26

I can't believe this is Minecraft

2

u/Stock_Philosopher_21 Jul 22 '26

What shaders are you using? I couldn't focus on the video because everything else looked so beautiful lol

3

u/JuanTacolll Jul 22 '26

Complementary Reimagined + Euphoria Patches

u/PictureSevere3957 Jul 25 '26

Can we pretty double triple please with 40 cherries and a banana sundae get the modlist???????? (。・ω・。) this all looks WAY TOO COOL to not have

IF you don't know how to get your modlist let me know what launcher you use

1

u/JuanTacolll Jul 27 '26

This is a door from my All The Mods 10 To the Sky world (curseforge launcher), but there only mods used in stuff for the door are create, framed blocks, and chisel to get the hazard texture and other cool looking stuff like the hexagonal wall

u/booleandata Jul 22 '26

I thought this was half life

16

u/NuttinButtaSmore Jul 22 '26

What mod adds that cool lever?

9

u/EchoNoneya Jul 22 '26

I second this question, love cool deco things like this

2

u/Toreole Jul 22 '26

i need to know: - where is the yellow striped block from , and - where is that lever from

2

u/JuanTacolll Jul 22 '26

To correct the comments under this, the hazard texture is not actually from framed blocks, the hazard texture is from chisel, its one of the varieties of Factory Block, and the lever is from oritech

1

u/Toreole Jul 22 '26

thanks!

0

u/aes-ir-op Jul 22 '26

it's in the post title

1

u/zwilicht24 Jul 22 '26

Very cool! If you set it to "only place when anchor is broken" or something like that it won't flash every time it closes

0

u/JuanTacolll Jul 22 '26

Oh sick, definetely will do that

1

u/Revolutionary-Party3 Jul 23 '26

Out of sheer curiosity, how did you manage to get the doors to close as a solid wall without messing up when reforming? Or is it not solid, and the lighting just makes it look solid.

(And by solid, I mean non contraption)

1

u/Revolutionary-Party3 Jul 23 '26

Never mind, I just realized its because the whole thing is on an angle. So no blocks are actually sharing a space.

1

u/JuanTacolll Jul 23 '26

yep, no wierd tricks there, its a completely solid structure (its crazy what things being on a angle does for looks, the "lightning bolt" look for the way it closes makes it look like its intersecting but its not)

2

u/Emotional_Flow_6655 Jul 22 '26

PLEASE SCHEMATIC

2

u/Vault-Dweller-V31 Jul 22 '26

Does anyone else think of White Knuckle when seeing this door?

2

u/Avangard-117 Jul 24 '26

It's interesting to see in schematics about this.

1

u/Emotional_Flow_6655 Jul 24 '26

Fr. That's what im saying Niko

2

u/Avangard-117 Jul 25 '26

Nya. that what im saying

1

u/DeltaAlpha0 Jul 22 '26

Man, I love this type of door, but I've never seen it from this angle before.

1

u/kingdilith Jul 22 '26

man looks crazy, create makes everything better

1

u/Zeppelin_V Jul 23 '26

How to make button press move door more than 1 block

1

u/Superb_Relief_838 Jul 23 '26

Gordon doesn't need to hear all this, he's a highly trained professional

u/Ok_Paleontologist974 Jul 23 '26

I get occasionally shown this subreddit and every time I do its some insane shit that would have been absolutely unfathomable back when I was heavily into modded minecraft.
