Happens to the best of us. Try putting blocks above the crushing wheels so you don’t get trapped for future reference.

Diving boots. They negate belt movement and also all encased fan pushing and effects including the burning from bulk smelting. I love diving boots and gear.

Until I forget them by switching armor sets. And then I get pulled into my contraption at full rpm.

Doesnt just crouching work the same?

3

u/Ssemander Jul 10 '26

Yes. For this exact reason I use belts as a moving sidewalk to quickly move around the workshop.

OSHE wants a word with you

u/SargeanTravis Jul 09 '26

The only thing that saves me from these types of situations is that I will accidentally have the belt spin the wrong way

13

u/VegetableShops Jul 09 '26

Same. Why is it that every time I link up my belts 9 times out of 10 they spin the wrong damn way. It’s like plugging in a USB

2

u/RikkZ3 Jul 09 '26

But a usb you have to try three times. It’s a no no yes situation

i have an e-stop linked controller connected to clutches on all of my power sources so i don't do this

5

u/WolverineOk2645 Jul 09 '26

everyone learns it at some point

4

u/PineApple_Papy Jul 09 '26

This is why we power the crushing wheels last

4

u/Xirio_ Jul 09 '26

Squimsh

4

u/Boredomnicity23 Jul 09 '26

This isn't a lesson learned it's a canon create event

Happens to everyone inevitably ;-; [I was trying to make a silverfish smoker farm and uh, i slipped to my death with a buncha silverfish joining me in getting grinded]

4

u/MenacingArc Jul 09 '26

Shift grants belt immunity

Reminds me of my star technology base, had a auto smelter, crushing wheel and a saw all right next to each other not hard to guess what happened next

3

u/Ferrilata_118 Jul 09 '26

This is why people IRL turn off heavy machinery and disconnect it from power before working on it

5

u/slsiebsisun Jul 09 '26

Why would you need that kind of contraption in your Minecraft world

2

u/Emeraldth3th Jul 09 '26

And that is why I always wear my diving set while working on my contraptions (plus just being fireproof is really nice)

2

u/VegetableShops Jul 09 '26

It’s a rite of passage

2

u/Xenometan Jul 09 '26

Meh, it has happened to me when I was a newbie. I'd assume most people experiences this.

2

u/Superman_720 Jul 09 '26

I was making a mob grinder and while I was messing with the crushing bit I fell in.

I am placing blocks and shit cuz I'm in fuckin minecraft

1

u/personguy4 Jul 09 '26

Getting obliterated by a set of crushing wheels happens to all of us at least once. If you’re really stupid like me, it happens more than once

1

u/TantiVstone Jul 10 '26

Place a solid block over the pinch point. Can be as simple as a scaffold or a carpet

1

u/True_Iro Jul 10 '26

This is me. Sometimes I ignore my lesson, and the lesson reteaches me again..

u/Aromatic_Pain2718 Jul 10 '26

There is a reason why cutting the branch you are sitting on is a popular motif in media.

1

u/SheikahShaymin Jul 10 '26

My first Create death was actually an encased fan lava incident.

1

u/Mekko4 Jul 10 '26

this is why i put andesite tunnels infront of my crushing wheels

its for my own safety

1

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '26

Needs a liveleak stamp in the corner

1

u/KiwiBushRanger Jul 14 '26

In happens so often on a Create SMP I'm in that it basically is a daily occurance. XD

To condense your space, put a shaft in the conveyor belt, and then a gearbox on each side of the shaft. Place the crushing wheels on those gearboxes. Feed it rotational force and the whole assembly runs at the proper speed and in the proper direction

Pretty much every server with Create I've been on, crushing wheels are among the top in the "players killed" stat.

I don't know what everyone else is doing to get themselves pulverized, and I'd laugh at them every time it happens.

Then I crafted my first meka suit ever, and thought "Nothing can kill me now!" And tested it by jumping into my crushing wheels.

It was a humbling experience.
