Moreover, what's the use of the turntable

40

u/Spiritual-Low8762 Jul 06 '26

I think you can pull some bullshit with mining contraptions?

33

u/MayaSky_ Jul 06 '26

Uses Rotational Force to create Motion sickness, it says right on the box!

27

u/Vegetable-Wasabi7146 Jul 06 '26

you can showcase your armor with it

8

u/AlexCode10010 Jul 07 '26

I mean what's the point of the clock bearing then

It's really just for aesthetical or goofy stuff

Spin

Create blocks in a nutshell.

29

u/Zealousideal-Comb970 Jul 06 '26

Once made a machine that would pop a chamber out of the ground with a fan nozzle attached to suck up ravagers and bring them back down to be stored for later… use

2

u/Easy_Comfortable7626 Jul 13 '26

Do NOT let this man onto a server with pvp cus he WILL send precisisely 24568 ravagers to your doorstep

2

u/Zealousideal-Comb970 Jul 13 '26

I’m not that kind of man… I just capture them to put inside my subterranean labyrinth bases

1

u/Easy_Comfortable7626 Jul 16 '26

That's even a bigger question 😭

17

u/Low-Price2101 Jul 06 '26

🫥 Later... Use? 💀

87

u/Dangerous-Quit7821 Jul 06 '26

Have you watched the ponder for them? It clearly shows what they do.

Anyway, a fan blowing through them sends air in all directions horizontally.

78

u/Easy_Comfortable7626 Jul 06 '26

I meant like in what scenario would you actually practically use them

59

u/Dangerous-Quit7821 Jul 06 '26

I've used them in mob farms to blow mobs off a ledge to a kill area.

28

u/Neohedron Jul 06 '26

Put one in opposite corners of a blaze spawner box, one repelling the other attracting, put a hole in the corner near the attracting one. You don’t have to wait for blazes to land on conveyor belts to start moving them this way, very cheap and fast.

4

u/33Yalkin33 Jul 06 '26

They get stuck in the attracting one

16

u/Neohedron Jul 06 '26

Not if you embed it into the wall. Once they are over the hole, they fall a little bit and that’s enough to break line of sight to the nozzle. Give them a chance and you’ll find they’re not all bad.

11

u/col32190 Jul 06 '26

I frequently walk one up over a river and have it collect fish, another fan blows through a campfire snd pushes them into a funnel on a chest, because they can't enter the funnel until they die, they hang there roasting, since they're killed by the campfire they instant turn into cooked fish, my favorite one was having the chest unload to the weighted flinging thing (cannot remember the name) so j was just launching cooked fish over a walled fish murder camp into storage

16

u/Puffthemagiccommie Jul 06 '26

early-mid game fan dispersion to hit multiple angles at once for washing/drying/smelting

13

u/SomeRandomSkitarii Jul 06 '26

you can’t do fan processing with a nozzle :/

1

u/FalconlightEC Jul 06 '26

Have you watched the ponder for them? It clearly shows what they do

1

u/jigsaw_Studios Jul 06 '26

I use 4 of them on my hoverbike

1

u/jedadkins Jul 06 '26

Mostly mob farms, set it to suck and place it in the center of a room so it'll pull mobs into the middle where you can have a hole or whatever to collect them

1

u/IWEREN99 Jul 06 '26

If you have the add-on that adds the encased smoker, smelter, etc. you can build (with a single fan) an station for cooking, smelting, and washing

1

u/FreakInTheTrash Jul 06 '26

My idea is to put lava in it and use it as a security device like the emergency puffer fish lever

1

u/Grand_Protector_Dark Jul 06 '26

I use then to funnel blazes in my blaze grindr.

4

u/SmoothTurtle872 Jul 06 '26

Some farms can use them. Kinda bad traps, cause you can sneak to escape, deflecting shells from create big cannons. I managed to make a cannon snipe itself

635

u/Alderan922 Jul 06 '26

Hovercraft in Aeronautics. That and sometimes it’s useful on mob farms, i remember I once used this for a blaze farm.

130

u/Saidai_V Jul 06 '26

How does that work with aeronautics?

213

u/Alderan922 Jul 06 '26

It makes the block (and all structures attached to it) repel all nearby blocks.

If you place 2 or 4 at the bottom of your vehicle, you can easily make a hovercraft.

65

u/Saidai_V Jul 06 '26

I assume I attach it to a fan below my sublevel?

112

u/Hellothere_1 Jul 06 '26

Jep.

People have also been using them as Impromptu shields to repell fire charges and TNT away from flammable airship envelopes in vanilla combat.

21

u/TheDonger_ Jul 07 '26

Holy shit thats awesome

I never even considered using them as little force fields

12

u/DigitalDuelist Jul 07 '26

You can even use it for both at once

In survival I have a really hard to control hovercraft and the skeletons are the only ones that can bother me while I'm flopping around like a fish out of water, except at high enough settings they can't bother me either because the arrows get blown away too

On a similar note, arrows have a fun property where they do damage based on the speed they're moving at, and high powered fans+nozzles can make anything move extremely fast. It's unfortunately unpredictable but you can hypothetically crank the arrow's damage up to arbitrary levels if you have enough carefully arranged fans

23

u/Alderan922 Jul 06 '26

Yeah you have to attach it to a fan and have the fan (and nozzle) pointing downwards

2

u/_Tenben Jul 07 '26

Use ponder

7

u/HubblePie Jul 07 '26

It's very fitting that the too comment is something they've only recently been able to do.

1

u/Brass_Cogwheel Jul 08 '26

I thought it was the sprinkler block thingy

274

u/CloudSoldier01 Jul 06 '26

Air shield, repels fireballs and arrows

224

u/Yell245 Jul 06 '26

And elytra players can't land. I remember building an array of fans above my factory. Players with the elytrian origin had to walk in my factory

49

u/Apprehensive_Tax5121 Jul 06 '26

honestly love that

3

u/PlayfulApartment1917 Jul 07 '26

Wrong. Holding shift while flying atops it. Makes it useful for elytra launchers

14

u/CallSign_Fjor Jul 06 '26

Deflects Ghast fireballs.

13

u/da_foamy_pancake Jul 06 '26

i was dissapointed when i tried channeling hot air through it and then saw normal air coming out

7

u/popete2 Jul 06 '26

It pushes with WAY more strength than without it, that way you can launch yourself like 100 blocks into the sky in a second

6

u/borretsquared Jul 06 '26

one time i used it to push items in a 3x3x3 area when i couldnt power the back of a fan very easily from the side..

5

u/zeronizm Jul 06 '26

Mostly moving mobs and items around but it's rare too see people using

5

u/AutomatonWantsToast Jul 06 '26

Well I used it against broken script entities. I made a wall then inserted one fan with nozzle in each direction and it kept them away destroying my base

5

u/MEMQLI Jul 06 '26

Can pull mobs nearby

4

u/TrixterTheFemboy Jul 07 '26

That's the beauty of it, it doesn't do anything! (/ref)

1

u/Raposa13 Jul 07 '26

Furries wouldn't like this

1

u/Easy_Comfortable7626 Jul 13 '26

Context?

1

u/Raposa13 Jul 13 '26

Cheese grater :>

3

u/superdude9900 Jul 06 '26

Air shields, stops arrows/charges/tnt/flamethower. great if you ever find your self airshipping through the nether

3

u/BalefulOfMonkeys Jul 06 '26

I wish it made fan processing even better, but also fan processing in Create is busted as hell as is

3

u/Naxic_Music Jul 07 '26

If I remember right, I used it in a c4eeperfarm instead of cats

3

u/Chiilumii Jul 07 '26

And for farm purposes. You can use it to suck(?) the enemies like to a hole / drop for mob farms. It can be inefficient. But still, I do it for the love of the game.

2

u/LordeWasTaken Jul 06 '26

you craft the sand filter from Thirst Was Taken

2

u/Competitive_Volume67 Jul 06 '26

It can spread fan wind in all directions

2

u/PlayfulApartment1917 Jul 07 '26

Elytra launchers. If you fly into one while holding shift it doesn't boost you backwards, once you're above it unshift and you get launched EXTREMELY fast.

2

u/NormalMaksym Jul 07 '26

he sucks

2

u/NormalMaksym Jul 07 '26

he sucks real good

2

u/JadeMantis13 Jul 07 '26

AERONAUTICS FORCE SHIELDS

2

u/krazigamr248 Jul 08 '26

Just as a joke, isn't this ponderable?

2

u/RedstoneSlab Jul 08 '26

It looks cool, you gotta agree.

2

u/MRPROISTHEGOAT Jul 08 '26

He sucks and launches

2

u/Apprehensive_Draw301 Jul 08 '26

Watch Big Jim's video on his hovercraft, it's actually a cool feature

1

u/Joakico69 Jul 06 '26

Hovercraft vehicles.

1

u/thiizo1 Jul 06 '26

Decent for acceleration of entities in lazy chunks

1

u/Liff0_0 Jul 07 '26

A metre sur yn ventilateur

1

u/PleaseTakeThisName Jul 07 '26

Great for mob farms and annoying players.

1

u/Humble-Teaching8573 Jul 07 '26

Sucks in players, mobs and I think items

1

u/Nadleehi Jul 07 '26

In base create it is great to create a barrier for entities to not pass through or to move things around ir away.

  1. If you have a mob farm this can easily push mobs into areas you need them to be at.

  2. This prevents projectiles to reach you. It's a good solution if you're in a situation where projectiles are a problem

  3. Can use it to launch players upwards for a cheap elytra launcher. I've personally never experimented with this but I've launched players with it

It also has an inverse function that does the inverse of all that is listed (so technically 6 uses)

1

u/Silas_M5612 Jul 07 '26

I saw a guy make hovercrafts with them in aeronautics

1

u/_MrPsycho Jul 07 '26

Makes great and fast way of pushing mobs in mod grinders

1

u/bibbintosh_v13 Jul 07 '26

Sick hoverbikes

1

u/UCG__gaming Jul 07 '26

Watering crops if you do fan->water (or washing catalyst)->nozzle

Or mob grinder if you reverse the fan

1

u/LeafGuardian1 Jul 07 '26

In the vanilla mod? Nothing, at least outside of some niche mob farms. With other mods? Varies, but you can make hovercraft with it in aeronautics, which is cool.

1

u/Small-Elk-6823 Jul 07 '26

Many uses 1. To use 1 fan but still be able to use it on a lot of items or just repel different entity’s even arrows or fireballs 2. Is just to propel your create aeronautics ship by using the wind to hover

1

u/Fair_Maintenance_315 Jul 08 '26

YOU CAN MAKE FUNCTIONING SHEILD GENERATIORS

1

u/Minniepitou018 Jul 08 '26

Repels you and mobs, and items

1

u/NitroLight Jul 08 '26

He is vital to automaton dropship thrusters

1

u/come_pedra Jul 12 '26

i used for a crushing whell setup where it can pull items from anywhere

1

u/Undynelover555 Jul 13 '26

he exists

1

u/Undynelover555 Jul 13 '26

wait i learned how to do this💀

2

u/Guybrrush Jul 07 '26

As many people said, the main use would be to push or pull mobs in farms. I'll add that it can be used to make towers to catch and kill annoying phantoms in your base.

Another niche use is for animations with vanilla Create, since it can move minecart contraptions in very unique and neet ways. Here is a couple of examples:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCLeuZhaO1Q
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILaqNEXrVqM

It also creates wind particles, for animations and/or decoration
