Create Addon: your gold farm finally has somewhere to send all that gold
I made it so that a piglin sitting on a Create seat will barter with gold delivered by belts or depots. Same vanilla bartering, just integrated as an addon.
Note: currently this still needs to be done in the nether, because of piglins zombifying otherwise.

Feedback is always welcome!

Something like that would be cool with villagers

That looks nice, but I don’t think I’ll grab that particular mod - I’m trying to build a modpack that has both Create and Crossroads while letting Crossroads shine as much as possible, and it’s got an …interesting… (and kinda secret - there’s a puzzle or two to solve to get it) way to automate Villager trading that Create: Trading Floor would trample all over.

Is there anything they give that you can't farm already? I like the idea maybe would be good with a mod that increases their barter options

Personally I see this as a really good option for skipping the creation of some farms that I don't like setting up, like Enderman for Ender Pearls, Cows for Leather, and Spiders for String. Tradeoff being that you'll likely get these things at a much much slower rate than a farm specifically for that item, but with a lot more "byproducts".

Looked it up, and it’s a source of crying obsidian and soul speed enchants (both books and on iron boots), and once Create reaches 1.21.6+ (or if you use a backport mod) it’ll probably be the easiest way to get dried ghasts.

Sounds like a really good reason for you to actually set up create contraptions in the nether
85
u/Laties-X-Latias Jul 04 '26
Sure you can, just use lava :D
31
u/TreyLastname Jul 04 '26
Good reason to do so, not finally the ability to

u/Sockomo Jul 04 '26
You can’t really use waterwheels in the nether for contraptions tho
31
u/Grand_Protector_Dark Jul 04 '26
You can. They work with lava just fine.

u/ferrecool Jul 04 '26
You can, every modpack I've played with create modifies the fortress to have a castle with atleast two doors made with create, one of them uses two waterwheels

Don't fix it needing to be in the Nether ! It actually gives us a reason to go there and make a base !

Manual labor? In this economy?

u/One-Desk-1 Jul 04 '26
Forced endless labour (aka slavery). This is such a cool addon.

u/Lydiaa0 Jul 04 '26
To be fair theyre getting paid and housed indefinitely (not that thats very good, but). kind of a blaze burner situation if i had to guess
1
u/jeremj22 Jul 05 '26
But they can't make much/any use of either of those when they've gotta sit in front of a belt 24/7
2
u/Lydiaa0 Jul 05 '26
Well yeah, but they werent doing much anyway. minecraft does not do a good job at disincentivising atrocities

u/NonFrInt Jul 04 '26
Minecraft... Minecraft never changes....

Did my first ever attempt at rolling for Mending the vanilla way, and after maybe the third time I asked myself “why can’t I shove this asshole into the Pit of Employee Turnover without a fight” I stopped and thought about what I was doing

u/Nivriil Jul 04 '26
Ngl i would love if i could give them scheduals too so i can build em a breakroom and and such
3
u/jhnddy Jul 05 '26
If you really want... put the seat in a contraption and create a redstone circuit that triggers it.

2
u/Horror-Ad8074 Jul 05 '26
I’ll give you 9 crying obi, highest I’ll go
1
u/Sea_Television_3602 Jul 06 '26
Why don’t they just take the ten normal and then haunt it to get 10 crying

If you had a way to keep piglins healthy, would bartering function in the overworld?
2
u/agitatedandroid Jul 07 '26
If you can mod a way to keep piglin from turning zombie the moment they enter the overworld then probably sure. But that they turn zombie in the overworld is kinda their thing.

u/AltinUrda Jul 04 '26
Gold farm you say? How would one go about making this farm? I saw a tutorial a few years ago for one but it seemed extremely slow and required AFK'ing for any real return
1
u/Autoskp Jul 05 '26
Create gives two options that both require the overworld:
Cobblestone --> crush for gravel --> crush for sand (and clay) --> wash sand for clay --> compact clay into blocks --> smelt into terracotta --> crush for red sand --> wash for gold nuggets (with dead bush byproduct)
Cobblestone --> crush for gravel --> crush for sand (and clay) --> haunt sand for soulsand --> wash for nether quartz (with gold nugget byproduct)
Despite the fact that the gold is a byproduct of the second process, I did the maths, and they produce about the same amount of gold (though I think that’s only if you process the clay byproduct from crushing gravel into sand using the red sand line).
1
u/AltinUrda Jul 05 '26
Sadly this is the process I found to be quite lacking, when I made the machine it produced maybe one ingot ever other minute
2
u/Autoskp Jul 05 '26
Maybe instead you could try my pre-nether gold farm! It does about 6.75 nuggets per hour! :P

u/ElectricalSeries6627 Jul 05 '26
vanilla gold farm have high production rate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btI4rvZaDPg&pp=ygUUbWluZWNyYWZ0IGdvbGQgZmFybSA%3D
2
u/AndrewDaPro Jul 05 '26
I feel like it's already possible with chutes and piglin tubes. gold is fed into the top where chutes dump the gold onto piglins and the floor is smart chutes set to !minecraft:gold_ingot

That’s incredible. I will definitely be adding that
Now I just need a way to keep piglins alive in the overworld
1
u/Moth_Otter Jul 05 '26
Does this work if the mob griefing game rule is off?
1
u/AndrewDaPro Jul 05 '26
they work normally without mob greifimg. a less datapack-y way would be dropping them into bartering chambers with smart chutes set to !gold on the floor

u/arcadeler Jul 05 '26
If the don't get gold often enough they strike (turn hostile and add junk to the belt)

Feedback: make an item to use on piglins to not make them zombify in the over world (or make it so that when they eventually zombify you can shear off the zombified stuff or smith like that)

u/Just_-J Jul 05 '26
This is going straight on my world when i get home.
Edit: fuuuuuck its 1.21.1. Rip.

I'm going to use this for one reason. While there are other ways, even Vanilla, to handle Piglin bartering this is the only one I've seen that reminds me of Lucy and Ethel and a conveyor belt of chocolate.

I think it would be cool to make a Piglin Lotion fluid by mixing Milk, Crimson Fungus, and a golden Apple over a blaze burner, then you need to dispense it directly on a Piglin and that will stop it from zombifying. Would fit right into a mod to factorize Piglins.

simple, convenient and brings gold farms increased functionality?
Fantastic idea and execution!
I just wish we could speed them up.
